Russia has started transporting explosives, ammunition and drone components across the Caspian Sea to help Iran replenish its missile and drone supplies after US and Israeli strikes.
A European government document cited by NBC News on 18 August said the maritime route allows the two countries to move military cargo directly between Russian and Iranian ports.
