Iceland’s president Guðni Th. Jóhannesson has announced he has given the Pirate Party ‘captain’, Birgitta Jónsdóttir, the mandate to form the country’s next ruling coalition. Informal talks between the Pirate Party, the Social Democrats, the Reform Party, the Left-Greens and Bright Future will commence immediately. Birgitta met with reporters shortly after the announcement. She said she hopes that all parties already involved in informal talks, with the inclusion of the Left-Greens, will lead to a harmonious result.

  2. Stuart, what a sell out of the people; first, they get them to sell their shares in their central bank; their heritage, for IOUs; now, they are going to make them give their sovereignty to a few representatives that do not serve the 99%;

    South Africa was sold down the river in this way, in 1994; we have had a freedom struggle; we know how the sell-out works; these constitutions are corporate federal charters that give power to the UN and the 7 piratical nations that control it; Southern Africa is going to soon abolish their fake constitution; and, start over; people sovereignty; direct democracy;

    No-one has even noticed the in-your-face Iceland sell-out; they will never be able to jail any bankster every again;

    And, there is always a diabolical satire thrown in, somewhere; in this case it is the “pirate” party wanting to make pirate laws so pirates can invade Iceland; wake up, Iceland;

    • Good feedback, UZA. I agree that direct democracy is the only solution – a system I believe is incompatible with capitalism. Great to hear that Southern Africa will soon abolish their fake constitution. in my experience constitutions are mainly geared towards protecting the property rights of capitalists.
