Women’s Rights in the Early French Revolution

Episode 15: Women’s Rights in the Early Revolution

Living the French Revolution and Age of Napoleon

Dr Suzanne M Desan

Film Review

Beginning in 1791, many French feminists demanded equal rights for women, given it was women’s activism, starting with bread riots, that propelled the 1789 insurgency. Likewise women’s societies replaced nuns in running hospitals and caring for the poor as  the National Assembly closed down convents.

With the rapid Improvement in literacy rates, publication of women’s works (novels, political tracts, plays) skyrocketed. Much of the writing articulated specific demands, such as equal educational rights, the right to divorce, fairer inheritance laws and an end to physical abuse by men. When radical Jacobin clubs closed their doors to female members, women formed political clubs all over the country. They often combined political discussion with charitable work, such as workshops to train poor women in marketable skills, collecting funds to provide poor relief and paying off national debt, running local festivals, planting liberty trees and (during the war with Austria) making uniforms and bandages.

Olympe de Gouge was one the most prolific feminist revolutionary writers. In 1791 she published the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and Citizen, claiming women were entitled to all the rights men received in the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen. She also called for an end to slavery; the legalization of divorce and  prostitution; a luxury tax to help the poor and (for women) full freedom of expression, the right to vote and and hold public office, full property rights.

However when National Assembly delegates spoke in favor of women’s suffrage, they were openly booed.

*De Gouge was a constitutional monarchist and would be guillotined during The Terror.

American Diabetes Association Issues New Recommendation Diabetics Eat More Processed Sugar

American Diabetes Association trying to normalize fatness with new recommendation that obese diabetics eat more PROCESSED SUGAR

Dr Eddy Betterman

One of the latest pieces of bizarre “fat acceptance” propaganda to come from the establishment is a “sweet and sour cucumbers” recipe from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) that encourages diabetics to add a whopping 60 grams of processed sugar to their pre-fermented cukes.

Calling those who run the ADA “sadistic biomedical profiteers,” Armageddon Prose‘s Ben Bartee says the recipe is “damn near criminal” in that it advises diabetics to consume the opposite of what they should be eating for their condition.

“Diabetics should all, without exception, in perpetuity until their metabolic dysfunction is resolved and insulin sensitivity restored, be on either ketogenic or extremely low-carb diets,” Bartee writes.

“To the metabolically compromised, sugar is poison, and all the more so when it’s processed and unfiltered through fiber.”

If the ADA were in the business of actually curing diabetes, it would provide helpful information about how to reverse it through diet and self-discipline. Instead, the organization is pushing sugar on diabetics, which is a death sentence.

“But then, if diabetics suddenly discovered their own power to heal themselves, the executives over at the ADA who make a killing off of the proliferation of disease might be forced to do an honest day’s work,” Bartee says. “And that they would never abide.”

[…]

Another thing to consider is the fact that the new ADA recommendation that diabetics consume more sugar was paid for by a company that profits from treating kidney patients at its vast network of kidney centers.

“This dubious recommendation for diabetics to eat sugar was paid for by DaVita Corp which runs kidney centers,” tweeted Dr. Robert Lufkin, M.D. “The leading cause of renal failure is … diabetes.”

In the comments, someone wrote that he stopped eating processed sugar years ago, and has not consumed even a speck of fast food since 1994.

“Nothing from a ‘factory’ based box or bag,” this person added. “No weight or health problems at all.”

Another wrote that the ADA’s sweet-and-sour cucumbers recipe is no surprise because the Alzheimer’s Association does the very same type of thing by recommending that dementia patients consume seeds oils, which are highly inflammatory and toxic by nature.

“It’s not about health and never has been,” this person added. “It’s about keeping folks on the Big Pharma and Big Medicine train until the state gets its windfall from burial and estate taxes. We are but commodities to our government overlords.”

US enlists extremists (ISIS) to attack Russian troops in Syria

The Cradle

The Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, has accused Washington of directing Syrian armed groups to carry out attacks against Russian troops in the country.

“There are indications that the Americans are specifying tasks for their forces from among the Syrian armed opposition to inflict the greatest amount of damage on Russian military forces in Syria,” Lavrentiev said on 26 January.

Lavrentiev added these attacks are planned not only against Russian forces in southern Syria but also in what is known as the Idlib de-escalation zone northwest of the country – patrolled by Russian and Turkish forces in line with a 2018 agreement.

“[The US] has begun … supplying [extremist groups] with modern weapons and modern drones so that it can carry out raids, including on the Hmeimim base.”

Hmeimim is a Russian-operated military base located southeast of the Syrian city of Latakia. Hostile, unidentified drones have approached the Hmeimim base in the past.

On 3 October, Idlib-based extremists launched a drone towards a crowded military college in the city of Homs, killing dozens of civilians and graduating officers.

Russian officials have repeatedly accused the US harboring and training extremist militants in Syria, particularly inside Washington’s Al-Tanf military base.

Russian and Syrian officials have also accused US forces of providing ISIS with logistical support and allowing it to operate from the 55-kilometer area surrounding the Al-Tanf base.

Lavrentiev’s comments come as ISIS is making a resurgence in Syria. Despite losing the majority of its territory in the country, the group’s cells operate in the Syrian desert – geographically linked to Al-Tanf and the 55-kilometer zone around it – carrying out frequent hit and run attacks against Syrian troops, civilians, farmers, and truffle harvesters

This marked resurgence in ISIS activity coincides with ongoing attacks on US bases in Syria and Iraq by Iraqi resistance factions in support of Gaza and in rejection of US support for Israel.

Since October, the Iraqi resistance has launched at least 153 attacks on the US bases.

US officials are reportedly also in talks to establish a time-table with the Iraqi government for a withdrawal of their troops from Iraq.

However, sources told Reuters that the talks “are expected to take several months, if not longer, with the outcome unclear and no US troop withdrawal imminent.”

As US bases in Syria come under fire, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) – a US-backed Kurdish militia which helps oversee Washington’s occupation of the country’s oilfields – has also been facing a widespread rebellion since last August, waged by Arab tribes with Syrian government backing.

Insurance underwriters insert ‘no connection to Israel’ (or US) clause for shipping

A ship transits the Suez Canal towards the Red Sea on January 10, 2024 in Ismailia, Egypt [Sayed Hassan/Getty Images]

Middle East Monitor

Insurance underwriters are requiring some clients to sign contracts guaranteeing that they have no connection to Israel or the US in order to obtain cover for cargo ships passing through the Suez Canal, the New York Times has reported. The demand comes as Houthi attacks in the Red Sea have pushed up insurance premiums for merchant vessels.

According to the NYT, the attacks at this critical choke point handling 12 per cent of global trade have more than doubled the average worldwide shipping costs. Some ships are opting to avoid the Suez Canal and instead take the longer route around the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, adding weeks to delivery times.

Passing through the Red Sea still necessitates expensive speciality war risk insurance offered by London brokers to cover potential Houthi strikes. Rates have jumped as much as 50 times more than before the Yemen conflict, and now cost up to one per cent of a ship’s value despite relatively minimal damage to ships so far. For a ship carrying goods worth $100 million, that could mean an extra $1m to be insured.

Insurers blame the increased risk on Israel’s military offensive against the Palestinians in Gaza. By forcing clients to guarantee that they have no ties with Israel and its Western allies, underwriters aim to shield themselves from inadvertently covering any vessels associated with the current geopolitical tensions underlying the attacks.

Analysts say that the ripple effects on global trade and consumer prices are still unfolding. They warn that if Red Sea transit remains high-risk, inflation could return.

The demand by underwriters follows previous preventative measures taken by vessels to avoid Houthi attacks. Earlier this month, cargo ships passing into the Red Sea began to declare that they have no links to Israel, according to data from the navigation safety feature known as the Automatic Identification System (AIS), which transmits the identity, location and destination of larger vessels.

Israel’s Western allies appear to be running out of options in their attempt to contain the Houthis. Yesterday, the Financial Times revealed that the US has urged China to help curb Houthi attacks around the crucial Bab Al-Mandab Strait. Chinese ships are not being targeted by the Yemeni group and nor are vessels of countries that are not supporting Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza. Nevertheless, China is reported to have expressed “concern” about the attacks, and called for “restraint”.

Houthis win missile battle as Maersk turns back US war supplies for Gaza.

The Maersk Detroit: fled the Red sea carrying US arms after Houthi attack, 24/1/24

The Free

The Houthis (Ansar Allah) replied after yet another illegal US bombing attack and announced late on January 24 that they damaged a United States warship and forced two American commercial vessels to retreat after a two-hour missile engagement in the Gulf of Aden and Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The shipping company Maersk admitted both its ships attacked were carrying cargo belonging to the U.S. Department of Defense and other U.S. government agencies.

The company also announced that it had suspended the operations of U.S.-owned ships in the Red Sea and nearby waters.

“In solidarity with the Palestinian people and in response to the American-British aggression on our country, clashes occurred with a number of American destroyers and warships in the Gulf of Aden and the Bab al-Mandab Strait,” Houthi military spokesman Brigade General Yahya Saree said in a video statement.

The spokesman said that the engagement occurred while the ships were providing protection for two American commercial vessels and lasted for more than two hours.

“The US Navy has turned both ships around and is escorting them back to the Gulf of Aden,” a Maersk statement said, adding that “following the escalation of risk, MLL is suspending transits in the region until further notice.”

Brig. Gen. Saree confirmed that Houthi missiles scored a direct hit on an American warship, forcing the two commercial vessels to “retreat from entering the Red Sea.”

He said that “a number of ballistic missiles of the group reached their targets, despite attempts to intercept them by warships, and the armed forces used several ballistic missiles in the engagement.”

The spokesman added that the Houthis will “continue to prevent Israeli navigation or ships heading to the occupied Palestinian ports in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea until the cessation of aggression [by Israel] and lifting of the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”

He also stressed that the group is “taking all necessary military measures within the legitimate right of defending our country, people and nation, targeting all American and British hostile targets in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.”

The Danish shipping giant Maersk said that the M/V Maersk Detroit and another American-owned ship, the M/V Maersk Chesapeake, were attacked while transiting the Bab al-Mandab.

A few hours before the release of the statement, the U.S. Central Command said that the Houthis fired three anti-ship ballistic missiles at an American-owned container ship, the M/V Maersk Detroit. According to the command, two of the missiles were intercepted by U.S. warships, while the third missed its target.

The Iranian-backed Houthis began targeting ships linked to Israel in response to the war on Gaza last November. Earlier this month, they expanded their operations to include U.S.-owned vessels in response to attacks by the U.S. and allies on Yemen.
With no end in sight for the Israeli war in Gaza, the crisis in the Red Sea could soon escalate into a full-blown war between the U.S. and the Houthis.

However Ansarallah, the Houthi movement, resisted for 9 years a genocidal war by Saudi Arabia and the UAE , who had US support, arms and satellite tracking, but emerged stronger and with home developed drone and missile capacity.

Now the UE are hastily assembling a coalition to attack a ‘joke fleet’ to attack the Houthis. Though somewhat supported by Iran they are a different Shia branch which also exists, though highly suppressed, in Saudi Arabia.

Its interesting to note that the Houthi drones are assembled for a few thousand dollars while those in the limited US arsenal cost hundreds of thousands each.

Hague Court Demands Israel Prevent Genocide in Gaza

International Court of Justice, The Hague, Jan. 26, 2024.

Telesur

The ICJ requires Israel to take immediate and effective measures to allow humanitarian assistance access to the Strip.

On Friday, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) made its first decision on the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel for genocide crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

While the judges did not rule on whether the Zionist state is committing genocide, they issued a kind of “restraining order” to study the case in its entirety, which could take years.

The ICJ requires Israel to take immediate and effective measures to allow humanitarian assistance access to Gaza and “punish” any incitement to genocide against Palestinian civilians. This United Nations body, however, did not call for a ceasefire.

As part of the provisional measures to be taken, the ICJ also asked the Zionist state to “ensure with immediate effect that its military does not commit any act” prohibited by the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

ICJ President Joan Donoghue declared that South Africa has the right to file a lawsuit against Israel, and Palestinians have the right to be protected against acts of genocide. She mentioned that some accusations against Israel fall under the Genocide Convention.

This judge also acknowledged that Israel caused a large number of victims, massive destruction, and the forced displacement of a significant portion of the population in Gaza.

On December 29, 2023, South Africa submitted a request to initiate proceedings against Israel before the Hague Court in connection with genocidal acts committed in the Gaza Strip and to seek the urgent suspension of the Israeli military campaign.

So far, the lawsuit against Israel has been supported by countries such as Bolivia, Jordan, Malaysia, Maldives, Namibia, Pakistan, Turkey, Venezuela, and the 57 states belonging to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

In one of the responses to this process, the Israeli state rejected the accusations and stated that the United Nations should be brought to trial, accusing it of being “complicit” in tunnel excavation in Gaza and using international aid “for the production of missiles and rockets.”

Watchlisted: You’re Probably Already on a Government Extremism List

By John and Nina Whitehead

“In a closed society where everybody’s guilty, the only crime is getting caught.”—Hunter S. Thompson

According to the FBI, you may be an anti-government extremist if you’ve:

a) purchased a Bible or other religious materials,

b) used terms like “MAGA” and “Trump,”

c) shopped at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Cabela’s, or Bass Pro Shops,

d) purchased tickets to travel by bus, cars, or plane,

e) all of the above.

In fact, if you selected any of those options in recent years, you’re probably already on a government watchlist.

That’s how broadly the government’s net is being cast in its pursuit of domestic extremists.

We’re all fair game now, easy targets for inclusion on some FBI watch list or another.

When the FBI is asking banks and other financial institutions to carry out dragnet searches of customer transactions—warrantlessly and without probable cause—for “extremism” indicators broadly based on where you shop, what you read, and how you travel, we’re all in trouble.

Clearly, you don’t have to do anything illegal.

You don’t even have to challenge the government’s authority.

Frankly, you don’t even have to care about politics or know anything about your rights.

All you really need to do in order to be tagged as a suspicious character, flagged for surveillance, and eventually placed on a government watch list is live in the United States.

This is how easy it is to run afoul of the government’s many red flags.

In fact, all you need to do these days to end up on a government watch list or be subjected to heightened scrutiny is use certain trigger words (like cloud, pork and pirates), surf the internet, communicate using a cell phone, limp or stutter, drive a car, stay at a hotel, attend a political rally, express yourself on social media, appear mentally ill, serve in the military, disagree with a law enforcement official, call in sick to work, purchase materials at a hardware store, take flying or boating lessons, appear suspicious, appear confused or nervous, fidget or whistle or smell bad, be seen in public waving a toy gun or anything remotely resembling a gun (such as a water nozzle or a remote control or a walking cane), stare at a police officer, question government authority, or appear to be pro-gun or pro-freedom.

We’re all presumed guilty until proven innocent now.

It’s just a matter of time before you find yourself wrongly accused, investigated and confronted by police based on a data-driven algorithm or risk assessment culled together by a computer program run by artificial intelligence.

For instance, a so-called typo in a geofence search warrant, which allows police to capture location data for a particular geographic area, resulted in government officials being given access to information about who went where and with whom within a two-mile long stretch of San Francisco that included churches, businesses, private homes, hotels, and restaurants.

Thanks to the 24/7 surveillance being carried out by the government’s sprawling spy network of fusion centers, we are all just sitting ducks, waiting to be tagged, flagged, targeted, monitored, manipulated, investigated, interrogated, heckled and generally harassed by agents of the American police state.

Without having ever knowingly committed a crime or been convicted of one, you and your fellow citizens have likely been assessed for behaviors the government might consider devious, dangerous or concerning; assigned a threat score based on your associations, activities and viewpoints; and catalogued in a government database according to how you should be approached by police and other government agencies based on your particular threat level.

Before long, every household in America will be flagged as a threat and assigned a threat score.

Nationwide, there are upwards of 123 real-time crime centers (a.k.a. fusion centers), which allow local police agencies to upload and share massive amounts of surveillance data and intelligence with state and federal agencies culled from surveillance cameras, facial recognition technology, gunshot sensors, social media monitoring, drones and body cameras, and artificial intelligence-driven predictive policing algorithms.

These data fusion centers, which effectively create an electronic prison—a digital police state—from which there is no escape.

Yet this crime prevention campaign is not so much about making America safer as it is about ensuring that the government has the wherewithal to muzzle anti-government discontent, penalize anyone expressing anti-government sentiments, and preemptively nip in the bud any attempts by the populace to challenge the government’s authority or question its propaganda.

As J.D. Tuccille writes for Reason, “[A]t a time when government officials rage against ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’ that is often just disagreement with whatever opinions are currently popular among the political class, fusion centers frequently scrutinize peaceful dissenting speech.”

These fusion centers are the unacknowledged powerhouses behind the government’s campaign to censors and retaliate against those who vocalize their disagreement and discontent with government policies.

It’s a setup ripe for abuse.

For instance, an investigative report by the Brennan Center found that “Over the last two decades, leaked materials have shown fusion centers tracking protestors and casting peaceful activities as potential threats. Their targets have included racial justice and environmental advocates, right-wing activists, and third-party political candidates.”

One fusion center in Maine was found to have been “illegally collecting and sharing information about Maine residents who weren’t suspected of criminal activity. They included gun purchasers, people protesting the construction of a new power transmission line, the employees of a peacebuilding summer camp for teenagers, and even people who travelled to New York City frequently.”

This is how the burden of proof has been reversed.

Although the Constitution requires the government to provide solid proof of criminal activity before it can deprive a citizen of life or liberty, the government has turned that fundamental assurance of due process on its head.

Each and every one of us is now seen as a potential suspect, terrorist and lawbreaker in the eyes of the government.

Consider some of the many ways in which “we the people” are now treated as criminals, found guilty of violating the police state’s abundance of laws, and preemptively stripped of basic due process rights.

Red flag gun confiscation laws: Gun control legislation, especially in the form of red flag gun laws, allow the police to remove guns from people “suspected” of being threats. These laws, growing in popularity as a legislative means by which to seize guns from individuals viewed as a danger to themselves or others, will put a target on the back of every American whether or not they own a weapon.

Disinformation eradication campaigns. In recent years, the government has used the phrase “domestic terrorist” interchangeably with “anti-government,” “extremist” and “terrorist” to describe anyone who might fall somewhere on a very broad spectrum of viewpoints that could be considered “dangerous.” The ramifications are so far-reaching as to render almost every American an extremist in word, deed, thought or by association.

Government watch lists. The FBI, CIA, NSA and other government agencies have increasingly invested in corporate surveillance technologies that can mine constitutionally protected speech on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in order to identify potential extremists and predict who might engage in future acts of anti-government behavior. Where many Americans go wrong is in naively assuming that you have to be doing something illegal or harmful in order to be flagged and targeted for some form of intervention or detention.

Thought crimes programs. For years now, the government has used all of the weapons in its vast arsenal—surveillance, threat assessments, fusion centers, pre-crime programs, hate crime laws, militarized police, lockdowns, martial law, etc.—to target potential enemies of the state based on their ideologies, behaviors, affiliations and other characteristics that might be deemed suspicious or dangerous. It’s not just what you say or do that is being monitored, but how you think that is being tracked and targeted. There’s a whole spectrum of behaviors ranging from thought crimes and hate speech to whistleblowing that qualifies for persecution (and prosecution) by the Deep State. It’s a slippery slope from censoring so-called illegitimate ideas to silencing truth.

Security checkpoints. By treating an entire populace as suspect, the government has justified wide-ranging security checkpoints that subject travelers to scans, searches, pat downs and other indignities by the TSA and VIPR raids on so-called “soft” targets like shopping malls and bus depots.

Surveillance and precrime programs. Facial recognition software aims to create a society in which every individual who steps out into public is tracked and recorded as they go about their daily business. Coupled with surveillance cameras that blanket the country, facial recognition technology allows the government and its corporate partners to warrantlessly identify and track someone’s movements in real-time, whether or not they have committed a crime.

Mail surveillance. Just about every branch of the government—from the Postal Service to the Treasury Department and every agency in between—now has its own surveillance sector, authorized to spy on the American people. For instance, the U.S. Postal Service, which has been photographing the exterior of every piece of paper mail for the past 20 years, is also spying on Americans’ texts, emails and social media posts.

Constitution-free zones. Merely living within 100 miles inland of the border around the United States is now enough to make you a suspect, paving the way for Border Patrol agents to search people’s homes, intimately probe their bodies, and rifle through their belongings, all without a warrant. Nearly 66% of Americans (2/3 of the U.S. population, 197.4 million people) now live within that 100-mile-deep, Constitution-free zone.

Vehicle kill switches. Sold to the public as a safety measure aimed at keeping drunk drivers off the roads, “vehicle kill switches” could quickly become a convenient tool in the hands of government agents to put the government in the driver’s seat while rendering null and void the Constitution’s requirements of privacy and its prohibitions against unreasonable searches and seizures. As such, it presumes every driver potentially guilty of breaking some law that would require the government to intervene and take over operation of the vehicle or shut it off altogether.

Biometric databases. “Guilt by association” has taken on new connotations in the technological age. The government’s presumptions about our so-called guilt or innocence have extended down to our very cellular level with a diabolical campaign to create a nation of suspects predicated on a massive national DNA database.

Limitations on our right to move about freely. At every turn, we’re tracked in by surveillance cameras that monitor our movements. For instance, license plate readers are mass surveillance tools that can photograph over 1,800 license tag numbers per minute, take a picture of every passing license tag number and store the tag number and the date, time, and location of the picture in a searchable database, then share the data with law enforcement, fusion centers and private companies to track the movements of persons in their cars. With tens of thousands of these license plate readers now in operation throughout the country, police can track vehicles in real time.

Time that Israel stopped being a religious dictatorship

nuclear-news

What is so badly needed right now ? The truth. Facts. A bit of logic.

Israel has no official religion. Yet the declaration of independence in 1948 made it clear that Israel is “The Jewish State”.

And now – all the Western powers seem to agree with Benjamin Netanyahu - yes Israel IS the Jewish State.

And why does that matter?

Well, look at the past , and the present. What does a theocracy mean for its people?

Well, for hundreds of years up to around the 500 BC time, the Israel lands, especially Judah, were controlled by a state ideology of “Zion theology,”  the idea that Yahweh, the god of Israel, had chosen Jerusalem for his dwelling-place and that the Davidic dynasty would reign there forever. Then the Babylonian conquest happened, and the Hebrew Bible developed in the exiled community. The exiles saw themselves as a people distinct from other peoples.

Oppressed by the Romans, the Jews later became persecuted for centuries by the Christians. In theocratic Europe, the Inquisition developed, culminating in the horrors of the Spanish Inquisition, torturing and killing non-Christians.

So, we see what religiously controlled States did to people, in the past.

And today.

Iran’s Islamic Republic says it all – enforcement of sharia law, oppression of women, oppression of religious minorities, the Supreme Leader exerts ideological and political control over a system dominated by clerics who shadow every major function of the state.

Saudi Arabia is an Islamic theocracy and the government has declared the Qur’an and the Sunnah (tradition) of Muhammad to be the country’s Constitution. Laws are enforced against religious minorities. It has  the Committee for Promoting Virtue and Preventing Vice, which carries out religious policing, including control over women’s clothing and their lives. There are severe punishments for blasphemy. Education is dominated by a religious focus.

How does Israel get away with pretending not to be a theocracy?

There’s a worldwide pretence that Jews are an ethnic minority. But Jews are all over the world, and do not have distinctive physical traits or genetic markers.

From the Balfour Declaration of 1917, to the Declaration of Independence in 1948, the world powers seemed to agree that the Palestine communities didn’t matter, and the land could be claimed by Jews who had previously bought properties there, and by the European Jews who survived the Holocaust.

This was grossly unfair to the Palestinians, – and to the Jews, who had little other choice.

But they’re there now. And can’t realistically be moved elsewhere. And Palestinians exist too.

So – everybody has to live with this. It would be a good start if everybody, especially Israeli citizens, recognised the humanity of all people, stopped banging on about “God’s chosen people”, and clearly stated Israel as a secular state.

Vaccine-injured Canadians have received $11.2 million in compensation for COVID jabs

Vaccine-injured Canadians have received $11.2 million in compensation for COVID jabs

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Adrian Wyld

By Alex Dhaliwal

RebelNews

The Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP) has accepted 1,825 of 2,233 claims for processing as of December 1, 2023. Of those claims, the Medical Review Board approved 138 for compensation, totalling $11,236,314.

Vaccine injured Canadians have been compensated more than $11 million after suffering adverse reactions from the COVID jab.

The Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP) processes claims in which “the injury is serious and permanent or has resulted in death,” it said. They accepted 1,825 of 2,233 claims for processing as of December 1, 2023.

VISP defines a serious or permanent injury as “a severe, life-threatening, or life-altering injury that may require in-person hospitalization or a prolongation of existing hospitalization, resulting in persistent or significant disability or incapacity, or where the outcome is a congenital malformation or death.”

It began accepting claims in June 2021 after the federal government announced the program the previous December. A doctor applies on behalf of a claimant, and then a VISP doctor reviews it and requests further medical records as required.

Of those claims, the Medical Review Board approved 138 for compensation, totalling $11,236,314, reported Blacklock’s Reporter.

“The program ensures all people in Canada who have experienced a serious and permanent injury as a result of receiving a Health Canada authorized vaccine administered in Canada on or after December 8, 2020 have access to fair and timely financial support,” said the 2021 memo Vaccine Injury Support Program.

“Eligible individuals may receive income replacement indemnities, injury indemnities, death benefits, coverage for funeral expenses and reimbursement of eligible costs such as otherwise uncovered medical expenses,” it said.

The feds allocated $75 million in funding for the first five years of the program but did not estimate how many compensation claims it expects. On average, it takes 12 to 18 months to review each claim.

While most side effects from COVID vaccines included dizziness, nausea, vomiting, joint pain or difficulty breathing, the Department of Health classified 10,906 of 55,145 reported events as serious.

They included 88 spontaneous abortions, 116 cases of kidney damage, 198 cases of facial paralysis, 283 heart attacks, 289 strokes and 1,167 cases of heart inflammation.

“Injury from vaccination was rare but not unprecedented,” added Vaccine Injury.

But Health Minister Mark Holland downplayed concerns of vaccine injury in testimony to the Commons last November 1.

“Thanks to vaccines and to other measures we saved literally hundreds of thousands of lives which is something we should really be deeply proud of,” he said. “Canada had among the best responses to Covid-19 anywhere in the world.”

Courtesy of a federal report last April 30, Health Canada urged medical professionals to exercise judgment in reporting adverse events but did not expect a detailed assessment of every event. “Should all adverse events following immunization be reported? No,” said the User Guide To Completion And Submission Of The Adverse Events Following Immunization Reports.

“Of particular interest are those adverse events following immunization which meet one or more of the seriousness criteria: An adverse event that is life-threatening or results in death, requires hospitalization or prolongation of an existing hospitalization, results in residual disability or causes congenital malformation,” it said.

As of last May 26, adverse reactions to the COVID jab killed 442 Canadians.

[…]

The report follows a Privy Council memo that recommended the feds downplay vaccine-related deaths and injuries through employing “various messaging strategies” and skewing statistics not to alarm Canadians.

“Adverse effects following immunization news reports and the government’s response to them have the potential to shake public confidence in the Covid-19 vaccination rollout,” said the memo Testing Behaviourally-Informed Messaging In Response To Severe Adverse Events Following Immunization.

They aimed to “Identify winning communication strategies to maximize public confidence in the government’s Covid regulatory regime,” it said.

On December 9, 2021, Dr. Supirya Sharma, senior medical advisor for the health department, said they did not know the long-term effects of the COVID jabs.

“The benefits outweigh the potential risks, but it is still a drug and still a vaccine and there are potential risks even if they’re rare,” she said. “That’s why we continue to monitor it.”

The farmers’ protests are akin to the peasant wars that have deep roots in European history, writes economist László Bogár for the Magyar Hírlap daily

Although the global media used all its weapons of opinion to make the “peasant war” that shook Germany seem nonexistent, the world was still treated to dramatic images of the mass farmers’ demonstrations through the new era of social media.

“No fuel, no food, no future” — that is the slogan most often used by German farmers, obviously in English because it was the only way to get mass exposure of their current plight.

However, you’d be forgiven for missing the protests raging across Germany — and in many other countries this past week, including Romania and France — due to the mainstream media’s apparent disinterest in the farming revolution, with producers seemingly given particularly strict instructions on what to, and what not to report.

The existence of protests unfolding throughout Europe appeared to be under some form of media embargo. Perhaps it might be worth considering why.

It is true in general, but in post-WWII Europe in particular, which was in a rather dire situation, it has proven true many times over that food supply is perhaps an even more delicate and important strategic sector than heavy industry. Although in macro statistics, which give a false picture, agriculture’s share could be only a few percent, or even “negligible,” it is not only not negligible, but it turns out to be more important than anything imaginable.

The great peasant wars of the 15th and 16th centuries were fought for exactly the same reasons as today. In that century and a half, in addition to literally “pulling the rug out from under the peasantry,” the average peasant’s daily working hours doubled, and the income he received for those hours was cut in half. It is understandable (though not excusable) that the brutal cruelty of the somewhat frustrated peasant masses knew no bounds. Nor, indeed, did the reprisals that followed.

The global power economy and the collaborationist power structures of Europe, increasingly subordinated to it and forced into a pariah role, are now doing the same, shifting onto peasant society the costs of prolonging the agony of the U.S. world empire.

The outcome of the conflict is, as of yet, unpredictable, as the entire European system of domination is on the verge of collapse. Just as the rebel leaders who led the peasant wars many centuries ago had no “adequate narrative” of what an acceptable settlement looked like, today, we are still living through a whirlwind of emotions, with little sign of an amicable solution being reached anytime soon.
