Healthcare Workers Reject COVID, Flu Shots Amid ‘Tremendous Erosion of Trust’ in Health Agencies

healthcare worker and flu and covid vaccine bottles

The number of healthcare workers receiving COVID-19 and flu vaccines declined during the 2023-24 cold and flu season, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Only 15.3% of acute hospital workers and 10.5% of nursing home personnel received a COVID-19 vaccine during the 2023-24 season — down from 17.8% and 22.8% respectively, the CDC said in its Oct. 31 Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

Based on data from the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network, flu vaccine rates for the same healthcare worker groups were higher than COVID-19 vaccine rates — 80.7% for acute care hospital personnel and 45.4% for nursing home personnel.

However, the rates remained “persistently below the levels during the prepandemic period.  For example, the flu vaccine rate for hospital workers in 2019-20 was 91%.

The CDC figures also showed that nearly 1 in 100 healthcare workers reported “a medical contraindication” to receiving either the COVID-19 (0.71%) or flu (0.89%) vaccine. The CDC figures did not provide information on the rate of vaccine side effects reported by healthcare workers.

The CDC said more research is needed “to identify effective strategies to improve vaccination at a time when health care personnel are susceptible to low vaccine confidence.

Such studies would also seek to improve “confidence about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines among health care personnel through, for example, providing additional education about the safety and effectiveness of vaccination to health care personnel.

Dr. Jane Orient, executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), told The Defender the data didn’t surprise her.

“It is no longer possible to deny safety signals and lack of effectiveness,” Orient said. “A large percentage [of healthcare workers] have themselves had several episodes of COVID, had adverse reactions themselves, or know someone who did.”

Pulmonologist Dr. Pierre Kory, founder of the Leading Edge Clinic and president emeritus and co-founder of the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance, said the CDC figures represent “a welcome trend” that he hopes will continue. He said:

“Regardless of the reasons for the decline, the data shows healthcare workers’ tremendous erosion of trust in our regulatory agencies. Allowing this distrust to continue will further undermine the public’s confidence in our healthcare agencies.”

Kory noted the symbolism of healthcare workers turning their backs on the COVID-19 vaccine in particular. “If the vaccine is not for us, it is certainly not for them,” Kory said.

Danielle Baker, a certified hospice and palliative care registered nurse injured by the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, agreed.

“With the current state of public healthcare, I am not surprised by the figures. In healthcare, there were positions where you agreed to some annual vaccinations upon hire, but the events of 2021 forever shook the core of even that practice,” Baker said.

Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, an ear, nose and throat specialist who was suspended by Houston Methodist Hospital for treating COVID-19 patients with ivermectin, said, “85% of healthcare workers are opting not to get the COVID shots because they know these shots are all risk and no benefit.”

‘Why should we trust you?’

Dr. Marty Makary, a public health researcher at Johns Hopkins University and author of “Blind Spots: When Medicine Gets it Wrong, and What It Means for Our Health,” said the disparity between the CDC’s COVID-19 vaccination recommendations and the actual coverage rate “is telling.

“It’s also embarrassing for the CDC director [Dr. Rochelle Walensky], who has made pushing the new COVID booster a leading priority of her tenure,” Makary said.

Orient said that doctors and other healthcare personnel who stood up to vaccine mandates and pressure from their employers to get vaccinated “are vindicated” by the CDC’s data “and should be applauded.”

“The message to the public should be obvious,” Orient said. “Why should we trust you?”

Others, though, do not feel vindicated. Sarah Choujounian, co-founder of the Canadian Frontline Nurses, told The Defender that while “many have been awakened to the fact that vaccines are not safe,” she and other nurses who opposed vaccine mandates are still facing professional repercussions.

“This news does not bring vindication as I, amongst many others, am still in court being dragged through a disciplinary hearing for standing up to the corruption and standing up for what is best for our communities,” Choujounian said.

Dr. Danice Hertz, a retired gastroenterologist who was “horribly injured” after receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, said lawmakers and policymakers need to open their eyes to the growing distrust of the COVID-19 vaccines by the medical community.

Hertz said:

“I personally have been injured by the Pfizer COVID vaccine. I believed what I was told by our agencies, that these vaccines are safe and effective. I learned the hard way that they were not telling the truth.”

Bowden said that doctors haven’t done enough to speak out. She said:

“Why are physicians not speaking out? Our profession has veered off course, and physicians today are more concerned with protecting their jobs over upholding the Hippocratic oath.

“We have an abundant amount of data showing adverse events from these shots, but we don’t have anyone in authority who will look at the data. Physicians need to get vocal and stand up to the government doctors who have taken over our healthcare system.”

Orient said more doctors are starting to speak out, but “intense indoctrination, financial incentives and fear of ostracism and licensure are huge barriers to overcome.”

Kory said if the medical establishment and the government are to have any hope of reestablishing trust, they need to “recognize the truth about the COVID-19 vaccines. Until that happens, no message from them will be taken seriously, and the little public trust left in these institutions will eventually be gone.”

Baker said he believes the public has reached a point where they no longer need to look to healthcare professionals for an answer when it comes to COVID-19 vaccination. He said:

“People pay attention. The mass media messages, governmental overstep, blanket mandates, lack of agency support for those adversely affected and unwillingness to see and hear responses to these things have caused an implosion.

“Enough of the general public has reached a consensus when it comes to this particular shot from the collective set of experiences over the past years.”

CDC data leave unanswered questions

The CDC data — self-reported by hospitals and nursing home facilities — also demonstrated regional differences in vaccine uptake. COVID-19 vaccine update was highest in the Pacific region and lowest in the Mountain and Southern states.

For the flu vaccine, uptake was highest in the Mountain region and lowest in the Pacific region for acute care hospital employees, while for nursing home personnel, uptake was highest in the Northeast and lowest in the South.

Figures for the current respiratory illness season are not yet available.

Pediatrician Dr. Michelle Perro told The Defender the data still leaves some unanswered questions.

“One criticism is that it did not delineate which types of healthcare employees were opting out of the flu and COVID vaccines. It appears that this data may not have been readily available,” Perro said.

Sanctions have doomed US dollar – Lavrov

Sanctions have doomed US dollar – Lavrov

RT

The hybrid war being waged by the US and its allies against Russia is hurting the world’s poorest nations the most and backfiring on Washington, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has argued.

Lavrov delivered his remarks at the Inventing the Future symposium in Moscow on Monday. He claimed the US and its allies are reviving the spirit of the Cold War by declaring the need to eliminate perceived “threats” to their dominance from Russia, China, and other countries pursuing independent national policies.

By struggling to preserve its “privileged position,” Washington is chopping down the branch on which it sits” and “destroying the system of globalization that they have fostered and promoted to the world, according to Lavrov.

“The dollar, which for decades has been advertised to us as the common property of all mankind, has been turned into a weapon of oppression and punishment against geopolitical competitors and dissenters. In doing so, they have essentially written a sentence for the dollar as a global reserve currency and a means of international settlement,” Lavrov said.

Last month, at the BRICS Summit in Kazan, President Vladimir Putin noted that Washington has made a “big mistake” by weaponizing the dollar. In pursuing de-dollarization, Moscow is not trying to undermine the US currency but is merely “forced to look for alternatives” in trade with its partners, he stressed.

“The United States itself is withdrawing the dollar from circulation, as more countries begin to fear that they may be next. No one knows what they can be punished for,” Lavrov noted on Monday, recalling Putin’s words.

“The extraterritorial application of unilateral restrictions harms the poorest states, depriving them of affordable energy resources, food, fertilizers, and basic technologies, not to mention advanced scientific achievements and developments, Lavrov said, highlighting that developing countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America suffer the most. The Western capitals have suddenly forgotten principles such as fair competition, the inviolability of property, the presumption of innocence, and many others.”

Over the past ten years, Russia has faced more than 21,000 sanctions across various sectors, from economics and trade to culture and sports, according to Lavrov. Russian financial institutions were largely cut off from the Western system in 2022 in response to Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. As a result, Moscow has accelerated trade with international partners using their national currencies, a trend increasingly supported by BRICS members, who have shifted away from using the dollar and euro for trade settlements.

DOJ invokes Civil War-era law in warning federal agents not to respond to polling places with guns

How does the FBI differ from the Central Intelligence Agency? — FBI

John Solomon

In recent days, federal law enforcement agents across the government received a jarring communication from the Justice Department: a warning they could be prosecuted under a Civil War-era law if they respond to an election polling place with guns, even for a fake report of a crime.

The memo from Corey R. Amundson, the chief of DOJ’s Public Integrity Section that oversees election crimes, was dated Oct. 15 and states it was prompted by inquiries about how the government might respond to Election Day violence.

It was brought to the attention of Just the News by a senior law enforcement official and confirmed by multiple federal agents, some who said their immediate bosses offered additional guidance.

“In our role overseeing federal prosecutorial efforts against election crime, the Public Integrity Section, through our Election Crimes Branch, has received inquiries about the legality of having armed federal law enforcement agents at polling places,” Amundson wrote. “Given the potential relevance of this issue to federal law enforcement agencies and the Department of Defense. we thought it prudent to bring to your attention Title 18, United States Code, Section 592.”

“This statute — which has been on existence since 1864 — makes it a felony for a federal official to send armed personnel to an operational polling place for crowd control or other purposes,” the memo added.

DOJ officials and retired agents told Just the News similar communications about the Civil War-era law have been sent out in prior elections, but this year’s memo has gotten more attention internally because of a recent Election Day ISIS terror plot that was thwarted a few weeks ago in Oklahoma and more recent fire bombings of ballot collection boxes in the Northwest.

The current memo cautioned agents that bad actors might try to trick agents into an armed respond to a polling place with a false report of violence.

Washington Storefronts Getting Boarded-Up Early Indication of Harris’ Defeat – Wall Street Analyst

By Ekaterina Blinova

Washington DC is seeing a lot of boarded-up storefronts and buildings. The New York Times is even hinting at the possibility of violence from disenchanted Donald Trump supporters. Wall Street analyst Charles Ortel doesn’t buy into the assumption.

“Republicans are a tiny percentage of registered voters [in DC] so it is pure fiction and likely projection that they are poised for mayhem,” Ortel told Sputnik.

“The truth in a fair contest is that Trump and Vance are set to trounce Harris and Walz – deluded Democrats and reliable Antifa and Black Lives Matter mobsters are the ones set to riot, and certainly not Republicans, because they will be celebrating,” he continued.

It seems that the efforts by the corporate media and influencers to sell the Biden-Harris Administration as a “transformative success” have fallen flat. It’s becoming clear that things are actually worse now than they were under Trump, pre-Covid, according to the analyst.

“Political insiders know that Harris is a far worse candidate than Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden were in 2016 and 2020 and that Trump and Vance are a potent slate backed by tens of millions of motivated and enthusiastic voters, who likely will win decisively, absent widespread cheating,” Ortel said.

He doesn’t rule out that those who poured a whopping $1 billion into the Harris-Walz ticket are preparing to throw a spanner in the works for Trump and JD Vance. They might even try to invalidate the 2024 results if the former president and his running mate win.

“I hope cooler heads prevail in what remains of the Democrat party. As of this moment, Trump and Vance seem poised to win a decisive mandate against the Deep State swamp, likely with control of the Senate and a stronger majority in the House,” Ortel concluded.

The Crucial Connection Between Animal Feed and Human Health

animal feed human health

Ashley Armstrong

Story at-a-glance

  • The diet of animals we consume directly affects the nutritional quality of meat, dairy, and eggs, which impacts human health
  • Modern farming practices have increased PUFA (polyunsaturated fat) levels in chicken and pork, contributing to the overconsumption of omega-6 fats. High PUFA intake can lead to health issues, including liver problems, inflammation, and metabolic disruption
  • Conventional chicken is now the highest source of linoleic acid (LA), a problematic omega-6 fat, in the American diet. Pigs fed a high-PUFA diet can have fat concentrations similar to canola oil
  • Ruminant animals like cows have a unique digestive system that helps convert PUFAs into more stable saturated fats
  • You can reduce PUFA intake by choosing grass fed meat, pasture-raised animal products, and avoiding seed oils

In our modern quest for optimal health, we often focus intensely on what we put on our plates. However, there’s a crucial aspect of nutrition that often goes overlooked: the diet of the animals we consume. (What we eat, eats) This oversight can have significant consequences for our health, particularly when it comes to our intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).

Consider this startling fact: conventional chicken is now the highest source of linoleic acid, an omega-6 PUFA, in the American diet. This means that a food many consider to be a healthy, lean protein source is actually contributing significantly to our overconsumption of PUFAs.

linoleic consumptionFigure 1. Top source of linoleic acid consumption in the U.S.1

But it’s not just chicken we need to be concerned about. Pork, another staple in many diets, can be equally problematic. When pigs are fed a high-PUFA diet, their fat can have the same PUFA concentration as canola oil — a fact that might make you think twice about having several pieces of conventional bacon every single day for breakfast.

pork fat

These surprising revelations beg the question: how did we get here, and what does it mean for our health? The answer lies in the intricate relationship between animal feed and the nutritional quality of meat, eggs, and dairy products that end up on our tables. As the saying goes, “You are what you eat.” But perhaps more accurately, we are what our food eats.

[…]

What Are PUFAs?

Fats are composed of fatty acids, which can be categorized into three main types:

1. Saturated fatty acids (SFAs) — These have no double bonds between carbon atoms.

2. Monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) — These contain one double bond.

3. Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) — These contain two or more double bonds.

sfa mufa pufa

The number of double bonds in a fatty acid is crucial because it affects the fat’s stability and how it behaves in our bodies. PUFAs, with their multiple double bonds, are the least stable and most prone to oxidation.

Over the past century, there has been a dramatic increase in PUFA consumption, particularly linoleic acid. This shift is largely due to the widespread use of seed oils (often called vegetable oils) in food production and as a component of animal feed. Common sources of these oils include:

Vegetable oil (which is some combination of the items below) Soybean oil
Corn oil Sunflower oil
Safflower oil Canola oil

These oils are high in omega-6 PUFAs, particularly linoleic acid. While omega-6 fatty acids are essential in small amounts, the modern diet often contains an excessive and potentially harmful level of these fats.

“Prior to the 20th century, the average intake of LA was under 2% of the total daily caloric intake. The biological optimal range is approximately 1% to 2%, but current LA consumption is over 25% of the total calorie intake for the average person.”2

Why PUFAs Are Problematic

1. Instability and oxidation — PUFAs are highly unstable due to their chemical structure. Each double bond in the fatty acid makes it more susceptible to oxidation.3 This instability means that PUFAs can easily form harmful compounds when exposed to heat, light, or oxygen — a process that can occur during cooking or even inside our bodies.

2. Tissue incorporation — The fat we consume is used as a fuel source, but it is also used to make up structures inside of us. So dietary fats have energy, structural and signaling roles — impacting metabolism, gut health, cellular repair, and more. A higher PUFA environment inside of you will lead to different cellular signaling relative to an environment that is low/moderate PUFA and higher in SFA.

When a lot of PUFAs get incorporated into cellular structures, they make cells very fluid, leaky and unstable. Being too fluid impairs proper cellular function4 and can increase permeability and leakiness, letting things we do not want to get inside the cell5 — like water leaking from a bucket with holes. We of course want some permeability, but too much can allow electron leakage and large sized particles, like calcium, to get inside cells.

The half-life of fats is approximately 2 years, meaning these fats stick around for a while and it can take up to 2 years to improve the fatty acid profile inside of you!

3. Oxidative damage — When PUFAs oxidize, they form lipid peroxides and other breakdown products that can cause significant cellular damage.6,7,8 These oxidized fats can harm proteins, DNA, and other crucial cellular components, potentially leading to inflammation and various health issues.

4. Disrupt liver function — The liver plays a crucial role in processing fats and detoxifying harmful substances in our bodies. High PUFA intake, especially linoleic acid, has been linked to liver problems. PUFAs can promote liver fibrosis.9,10 Plus, experimental and epidemiological studies have shown that dietary linoleic acid is required for the development of alcoholic liver damage.11

Even small amounts of linoleic acid (0.7% or 2.5% of diet) combined with alcohol consumption caused fatty liver, necrosis, and inflammation in animal studies. These findings suggest that the high levels of linoleic acid in modern diets, partly from high-PUFA animal products, may be contributing to the rise in liver diseases.

5. Metabolic disruption — High PUFA intake can interfere with thyroid function and metabolism.12,13,14,15 PUFAs have been shown to block thyroid hormone production, transport, and receptor binding, leading to a slower metabolism and associated health problems. Studies have shown that reducing PUFA consumption can increase metabolic rate (measured by basal respiration).16

A lower metabolic rate means down regulated systemic function (you won’t function at your best) AND weight gain even with a lower calorie intake — something no one wants or needs.

6. Impaired carbohydrate utilization — PUFAs can inhibit the body’s ability to properly use carbohydrates.17,18,19 They interfere with key enzymes involved in glucose metabolism, potentially contributing to insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome.20,21

More specifically, studies document that PUFAs Inhibit Cytochrome C Oxidase activity22 and inhibit the function of the PDH enzyme.23,24 PDH is the rate-limiting complex responsible for the decarboxylation of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA and thus serves as a pivotal role in fuel selection and regulation of carb oxidation.

PUFAs have a reductive effect, pushing the pyruvate towards the lactate, glycolytic pathway instead of the acetyl-CoA and thus full oxidative phosphorylation pathway.

One study noted that “enrichment of the diet with polyunsaturated fatty acids causes changes in adipose tissue metabolism that favour fat deposition.”25 Another study demonstrated that consuming a meal high in PUFAs, as opposed to saturated fats, led to lower rates of carbohydrate oxidation after the meal.26

These findings suggest that the high PUFA content in modern diets, including from animal products, may be contributing to the rising rates of Type 2 diabetes and obesity.

7. Damage hut health and increase inflammation — The health of our gut is intrinsically linked to our overall well-being, and high PUFA intake may be compromising gut integrity:

PUFAs can increase the permeability of tight junctions in the gut,27 potentially leading to “leaky gut” syndrome.

A diet rich in omega-6 PUFAs resulted in increased host inflammation, oxidative stress, and gut barrier dysfunction in one study.28

High dietary intake of linoleic acid was associated with a significant increase in ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease.29

These effects on gut health can have wide-ranging consequences, as gut health is linked to immune function, mental health, and various other aspects of overall well-being.

Diets high in omega-6 PUFAs have been associated with increased inflammation and gut permeability. This can contribute to various inflammatory conditions and potentially compromise gut health.

8. Cholesterol synthesis inhibition — While often vilified, cholesterol plays crucial roles in our bodies, including hormone production and cell membrane integrity. PUFAs can inhibit the body’s natural cholesterol production, which may have unintended negative consequences.

We of course do not want super high levels of cholesterol (that is a sign of hypothyroid), but we also don’t want super low cholesterol since cholesterol is protective.30,31

Moreover, anything that suppresses your cholesterol synthesis increases the risk of cancer.32 Statins are major carcinogens and are linked to diseases like ALS and other muscular dystrophies.

9. Immune suppression — High PUFA intake can suppress immune function.33,34,35 This immunosuppressive effect is so well-established that there are several established products on the medical market based on a combo of linoleic and linolenic acid that are given to organ transplant patients.36

[…]

The immunosuppressive effects of vegetable oils are not limited to intravenous administration. Consuming vegetable oils in foods has been found to have similar harmful effects on the immune system. This is particularly concerning given the widespread use of vegetable oils (and high linoleic acid levels) in modern diets.

Now that we understand the potential issues with high PUFA intake, let’s explore how the feed given to livestock impacts the nutritional composition of the animal products we consume.

The Feed-Food Connection: How Animal Diets Affect Our Health

Ruminants, thanks to their unique digestive system, have a natural mechanism that helps protect against high levels of PUFAs in their tissues. The bacteria in their rumen can convert some of the PUFAs they consume into saturated fats through a process called biohydrogenation.

This means that the fat in beef and milk will still tend to be more saturated. However, it’s important to note that modern farming practices can still influence the fat composition of ruminant products. (Scientists are now researching how to bypass this process and have been able to significantly increase PUFA concentration — yuck!) A conversation for another day!

The situation is quite different for monogastric animals like pigs and chickens. These animals do not have the biohydrogenation process that occurs in ruminants. As a result, the fats they consume are more directly reflected in their body fat and other products. Several studies have demonstrated this direct relationship.

In pigs, increasing dietary PUFA led to a significant decrease in saturated fatty acid levels in adipose tissue. The concentration of linoleic acid increased significantly with an increase in dietary PUFA.37 In chickens, the PUFA content of thigh meat increased exponentially as the inclusion of dietary PUFA increased.38

The push to decrease saturated fat content in animal products has led to an increase in PUFA content in our food system, based on the misguided belief that this improves the nutritional quality of the meat.

“Overall, decreasing the content of SFA and increasing the content of UFA have become the trend of improving the nutritional quality of pork.”39 The conventional system is trying to manipulate food to fit a false health narrative!

And they contradict themselves all the time in the literature — “It’s well known that although dietary PUFA improves meat nutritional qualities, such meats are more susceptible to lipid oxidation during processing.”40 It is well documented how unstable these fats are!

This direct relationship between livestock feed and fat composition in monogastric animals means that conventional chicken and pork can be significant sources of PUFAs in the modern diet. And as we discussed earlier, the higher PUFA content of modern can have far-reaching effects on human health. High-PUFA diets will negatively impact:

Metabolic health Thyroid health
Gut health Liver health
Inflammation Insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism
Cholesterol synthesis DNA and cellular structures

Doctor’s Testimony: UK Officials Sedated the Skripals to Keep them from Talking

by John Helmer, Moscow

The British Government was exposed in the Dawn Sturgess Inquiry this week as keeping Sergei and Yulia Skripal (lead image) unconscious to silence them. That was six years ago, when they were in Salisbury District Hospital in March 2018. Now, prevented from testifying in public at the public inquiry under way in London, they are still incommunicado, either in prison or dead.

The evidence revealed in the published witness statements and transcript of testimony in four days of hearings at the Sturgess Inquiry October 28-31  shows that British Government officials have lied in public and lied on oath in the courts to conceal what they have been doing to accuse Russia of Novichok poisonings in the Salisbury area in 2018. The Inquiry records show that the chairman and judge, Anthony Hughes (titled Lord Hughes of Ombersley),  and the lawyers working for him are actively working to protect the lies and prevent contradicting evidence from becoming public.

Surprise testimony by Dr Stephen Cockroft, the doctor who cared for Sergei and Yulia Skripal on their admission to Salisbury District Hospital (SDH) on March 4, 2018, has revealed that the British Government kept them heavily sedated in order to tell the courts and media that they were unconscious and unresponsive when they had revived.  Government officials ordered the hospital to punish Cockroft from talking directly to Yulia Skripal when she came out of her coma on March 8, 2018.

[…]

Cockroft has been recorded as giving the police a 7-page witness statement dated March 19, 2018, of his direct observations as the doctor in charge at the Intensive Care Unit  of SDH on March 8, less than four days after the admission of Sergei and Yulia Skripal:

“I had not realised that this was a sedation hold [sedation stopped]. I felt shocked and a degree of Euphoria that she has woke [sic] up. Yulia nodded her head on occasions throughout the conversation, I would describe it as slow, not a normal nod in terms of the movement, nonetheless it was a very purposeful nod… I think Anna and Rebecca [ICU nurses on duty at Radnor Ward] were shook up that the patient waked [sic] quite as quickly as she did… I was staggered to see Yulia with her eyes open and apparently responding in a meaningful way. Yulia was looking at Anna in a purposeful way, her eyes were wide open, her gaze was directed towards Anna in a way that suggested to me that she had good vision to perceive that Anna was the person that was talking to her. It wasn’t a response we would see from someone with brain damage  There were a couple of occasions when she shook her head from side to side again this was quite slowly, but purposefully. You would need a high degree for neurological function in order to do that. I also asked Yulia if she could squeeze my fingers on her left and the right and she did. She is the one [compared with Sergei Skripal], if I thought there was going to be some real long lasting damage it would be to her and there she was apparently awake”.

Cockroft’s evidence of March 8, 2018, directly contradicts the evidence given on oath in the High Court in London on March 20-22, 2018, by state officials and an SDH “treating consultant” – the name was kept secret in the published court report — that “Mr Skripal is heavily sedated following injury by a nerve agent. Ms Skripal is heavily sedated following injury by a nerve agent. Mr Skripal is unable to communicate in any way. Ms Skripal is unable to communicate in any meaningful way.”  The High Court record can be read in full here.

To read the judgement of Justice David Williams, click on link to enlarge: https://www.bailii.org
Read more: https://johnhelmer.net/

Cockroft’s disclosures also contradict the script which Yulia Skripal read out at a MI6-supervised and Reuters-filmed appearance for two minutes at a US bomber base in the UK in May of 2018. Skripal claimed then “after 20 days in a coma I woke to the news that we had both been poisoned.”  In fact, Yulia woke from her coma after four (4) days.

On July 18, 2024, Cockroft told the Inquiry which questioned him for a second witness statement:

“An untoward event took place on Thursday 8 March 2018. A colleague (Dr James Haslam) had ordered all sedation to be discontinued temporarily to Yulia Skripal. This is quite a common practice on Intensive Care Units (ICU) and we refer to it as a ‘sedation hold’ and would normally be planned and discussed with the team. Unfortunately, having ordered the sedation hold, Dr Haslam left the ICU without advising me. I was present on the ICU treating another patient. As a consequence, Yulia Skripal regained consciousness very quickly and was confused, frightened, trying to get out of bed and was pulling at her various vascular access lines and breathing tube.”

Cockroft then revealed that because the sedation had been stopped and Yulia was no longer comatose, Cockroft was punished by Blanshard, the hospital’s chief doctor.

“I tried to feedback my concerns to Dr Haslam, but he was of the opinion that nothing untoward had occurred, but when these events were reported back to the Medical Director (Christine Blanshard) she had a very different opinion and I was summoned to a meeting with her on Monday 12 March to discuss my management of the incident. There is no formal record of that meeting [sic], however I was suspended from working on the ICU with immediate effect until Yulia and Sergei had either been discharged or died. Apparently by having had a conversation with Yulia Skripal I had been unprofessional and should have left such a conversation to the security services. I was warned by Dr Blanshard that I should not discuss any aspect of the poisonings with colleagues or other individuals and advised that any such discussion would be treated as serious misconduct. As a result of having communicated with Yulia Skripal I was interviewed by the police and my statement recorded.”

The Salisbury hospital official who collaborated with government officials and police to conceal the condition of the Skripals in hospital; to threaten and sanction the medical staff; and to intervene in the treatment of the Skripals, was the SDH medical director, Dr Christine Blanshard. By enforcing sedation on the two patients for the government’s political purpose, without their consent when they were conscious, out of coma, and capable of communicating, Blanshard violated her Hippocratic Oath.

Blanshard has not been called to testify to the Inquiry.

Blanshard and another of the SDH doctors, Dr Stephen Jukes, misled the BBC documentary broadcast on May 30, 2018. The two doctors acknowledged that the Skripals had recovered “at such a pace” but concealed how fast this had been – four days — and how they had then ordered heavy sedation to simulate coma and cover up.  This is repeating a lie by BBC reporter Mark Urban in this, the first documentary of the Novichok narrative by the state propaganda organ.

“After a couple of weeks,” Urban said in the film, counting from March 4 and March 18, “there were gradual but distinct signs of progress. The exact timing of that and details of the drugs given remains matters of medical confidentiality.”   – minute 8:20.  Urban has been revealed – and was recognized earlier by Sergei Skripal – to have been an informant for MI6.

Stephen Haslam was the second doctor with Cockroft  in treatment of the Skripals in the ICU unit known at the hospital as the Radnor Ward. Haslam’s witness statement to police on July 9, 2018 – two days after Dawn Sturgess’s officially recorded death — conceals that Yulia Skripal had recovered consciousness as soon as the sedation was removed four days after her admission to SDH. Haslam also conceals what Cockroft’s March 8 record shows – that Yulia Skripal could breathe and speak without the tracheostomic intubation visible later (right).

Instead, Haslam now claims to the Hughes Inquiry that while under sedation the two Skripals were subject to a tracheostomy on March 21; this, Haslam says, was  maintained for a week for Yulia until March 28; for Sergei until April 5.  Haslam provides no medical reason for this procedure.

The timing of the tracheostomy was during the High Court hearing on their purported incapacity to speak or express their consent to medical procedures. The timing also was just before technicians from the Organization for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) arrived from The Netherlands to take blood samples from the Skripals. The state-ordered sedation and tracheostomy prevented the Skripals from talking to the OPCW. For more details of the OPCW fix by the British to report Novichok, read the book (right).

Haslam also reveals in this statement that the 33-year old, previously healthy Yulia Skripal was suffering medical symptoms on her admission to the hospital which were more life-threatening than the condition recorded for her 66 year-old diabetic father, Sergei.

“Overall, the clinical picture was one of profound compromise of the central and peripheral nervous systems,” Haslam testified, comparing daughter with father, “and her condition was worse than that of her father.”

Medical experts who have reviewed the case and patient details and the Inquiry testimony, express surprise that the younger, healthier patient had suffered collapse simultaneously with the much older, health-compromised patient if, as the British Government alleges,  they had both been contaminated two and a half  hours earlier at the front door-handle of their home.

A leading British specialist on organophosphate poisoning comments:  “[It is] somewhat amazing that both Skripals throw up at the same time, then collapse at the same time. Throw up because they were both in contact with a Novichok door handle some 2 1/2 hours earlier. Everything [in the Inquiry hearing] today seemed to be drawn into confirming the official narrative.  We get right up to the collapse at the bench, but up to that point there are no symptoms from the older diabetic man. Not much use if the world’s most dangerous chemical cannot prevent an older, diabetic, overweight chap from driving, drinking, eating, walking, then collapsing some 2 1/2 hours later after the door-handle attack.”

“When I discuss the Skripal saga with my forensic colleagues, they all agree on the fantasy and fabrication. However, they have professional image to consider, so their heads are not above the parapet.”

The sources believe the only likely explanation for simultaneous collapse on a bench in Salisbury city centre, and the contrastive condition of Yulia and Sergei, is that they were attacked by a poison spray at the bench itself, and that Yulia was hit by a larger aerosol dose than struck Sergei.

The CCTV recordings, contemporary witnesses, and British police evidence at the Inquiry confirm there were no Russian agents at the scene at the time.

To prevent the Skripals from communicating from the hospital with the Russian Embassy in London and their families in Russia, the Government had arranged for doctors, experts, and lawyers to lie in the High Court at a hearing on their condition on March 20-22, 2018.  That their testimony has now been exposed by Cockroft at the Inquiry to have been false was put to Vikram Sachdeva KC, by email yesterday; Sachdeva was the lawyer appointed by the Government to represent the Skripals in the High Court proceeding.

Sachdeva (right) refuses to answer.

The British media and state propaganda organs have failed to recognize that when Cockroft’s witness statements and oral testimony were revealed on Thursday, the official narrative of a Russian Novichok plot collapsed. The BBC report omitted entirely what Cockroft had revealed about Yulia Skripal’s recovery after four days.

Trump Position on Fluoridation and Banning Certain Vaccines

Credit: Gage Skidmore

When asked by NBC News on Sunday about banning certain vaccines, former President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility.

Trump said he would speak to Robert Kennedy Jr. about the matter, calling him a “very talented guy.”

“Well I’m going to talk to [Kennedy] and talk to other people, and I’ll make a decision, but he’s a very talented guy and has strong views,” Trump told NBC.

Trump did not offer a specific position Kennedy may fill in his administration but said, “He can do anything he wants,” while speaking in Arizona on Thursday.

Kennedy recently posted on X that a Trump administration would advise all U.S. water systems to remove fluoride from tap water on day one.

In a post to X on Saturday, Kennedy said water fluoridation is “industrial waste.”

“On January 20, the Trump White House will advise all U.S. water systems to remove fluoride from public water,” Kennedy wrote. “Fluoride is an industrial waste associated with arthritis, bone fractures, bone cancer, IQ loss, neurodevelopmental disorders, and thyroid disease.”

Kennedy added that Donald and Melania Trump want to “Make America Healthy Again.”

Last week, Trump said that if he is elected, Kennedy will work on “health and women’s health ” and the nation’s food supply.

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr. we have. And he’s going to work on health and women’s health and all of the different reasons, because we’re not really a wealthy or a healthy country,” Trump said during his rally in Nevada.

“I told Bobby, ‘I want you to take care of health, I want you to look at the food and the food supply and what we put on the food and all sorts of — you can look at, but let me handle the oil and gas, Bobby,’” Trump added.

Kennedy runs a non-profit called Children’s Health Defense. According to the organization’s website, its mission is to “end childhood health epidemics by working aggressively to eliminate harmful exposures, hold those responsible accountable, and establish safeguards to prevent future harm. We fight corruption, mass surveillance and censorship that put profits before people as well as advocate for worldwide rights to health freedom and bodily autonomy.”

The organization provides legal assistance with fighting mandatory vaccination in schools and the workplace.

During his presidential campaign, Kennedy said he would prosecute any official who engaged in criminal wrongdoing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is dawning on mainstream figures like Anthony Fauci that their Covid policies were a public health disaster,” Kennedy began. “Lots of us are angry about the mandates, the lockdowns, the censorship, the insanity. But we need to avoid the toxic quagmire of retribution and blame and focus on ensuring this never happens again. Clean up the regulatory agencies, get corporate money out of public health, and guarantee free, open, uncensored public and scientific discourse.”

Kennedy continued, “Of course, officials who betrayed the public trust must not be allowed to hold power. I will remove them from their positions and, if laws were broken, my attorney general will prosecute.”

“Just to be clear, I will prosecute any official who engaged in criminal wrongdoing during the pandemic,” the candidate said. “Corrupt individuals are a small part of the problem. Our agencies have been captured by corporate power, but the vast majority of their staff are decent people. We need to get corporate influence out of *all* regulatory agencies so that they can serve the people honestly.”

“Not retribution, but justice!” Kennedy said. “As President, I will direct my attorney general to investigate and prosecute every person who knowingly defrauded or deceived the American public about the safety and efficacy of medical products and I will obtain justice and compensation for every American who was injured or suffered the death of family members from those actions. As a presidential candidate, I’ll continue to expose corruption to obtain justice for the injured.”

Russian gas exports to EU approach ‘technical maximum’

Russian gas exports to EU approaching ‘technical maximum’ – Vedomosti

RT

Exports of Russian gas to the EU and Moldova through Ukraine are approaching the maximum possible using existing infrastructure, Vedomosti newspaper has reported, citing data from energy giant Gazprom.

A total of 1.31 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered via this route in October, the outlet said in an article published on Saturday.

According to Gazprom’s figures, the average daily volume of Russian gas supplies through the Ukrainian gas transmission system last month amounted to 42.3 million cubic meters, representing a 5% increase compared to October 2023.

Following the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022, the EU slapped sanctions on Moscow and made it a top priority to curb its dependence on Russian energy. However, deliveries of Russian gas to the bloc continue almost three years later.

At the moment, the transit line through Ukraine and the European arm of TurkStream remain the only two conduits through which piped Russian gas can reach central and southern Europe.

Kiev has said it is not planning to extend the current transit agreement with Gazprom when it expires at the end of the year.

Earlier this week, Hungary – an EU member state – announced that it had imported 6.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas via the TurkStream this year. “This is the largest volume of gas to date” in annual terms, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said.

Last month, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) said the share of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the EU market had reached 20% this year, growing by 6% compared to 2023.

Mining Industry Needs $2.1 Trillion Dollars in New Investment to Meet Net-Zero Demand for Raw Materials

image

By Paul Homewood

Despite the growth in metals supply over the last decade, BloombergNEF’s (BNEF’s) annual Transition Metals Outlook finds that there are still not enough raw materials to meet growing demand. This supply squeeze could slow the adoption of clean energy technologies. In order to meet the demands of a net-zero emissions world, BNEF estimates $2.1 trillion is needed in new mining investments by 2050.

The report indicates that key energy transition metals such as aluminum, copper and lithium could face deficits in primary supply this decade – some as soon as this year. According to BNEF’s Economic Transition Scenario (ETS) – which is driven by the cost competitiveness of technologies and assumes no new policy support – the world could require 3 billion metric tons of metals between 2024 and 2050 to properly build out low-carbon solutions such as electric vehicles, wind turbines and electrolyzers. That number rises to 6 billion tons to reach net zero in 2050.

Kwasi Ampofo, head of metals and mining at BNEF and lead author of the report said, “the prolonged deficit of these metals will lead to higher prices for raw materials, which increases the cost of clean energy technologies. High costs could slow their adoption, and the energy transition at large”.

Niger-Congo: Biggest Language Family in Africa

Episode 6 Niger Congo: Biggest Language Family in Africa

Language Families of the World

Dr John McWhorter

Film Review

The Niger-Congo language family consists of 1000-1500 languages spoken south of the Sahara desert. One out of every 13 people in the world speak a Niger-Congo language.

Not much is known about the original Proto-Niger-Congo language (which these modern languages are derived from). According to McWhorter, speakers of Niger-Congo languages separated so long ago that most have their own unique grammar, syntax and vocabulary. Moreover only a few of these 1000+ languages have been studied, and many are already dying.

It’s characteristic for Niger-Congo languages to have many genders (noun classes) Swahili, the best known Congo language, has eight genders: for (tools, animate objects, inanimate objects, botanical nouns, long things and abstract concepts). Swahili is spoken in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and a few other East African countries. The dominance of Swahili in Africa stems from its adoption by Arab trades as the language trade. Swahili has adopted numbers and many common words from Arabic.

Swahili was also adopted in the US Black nationalists during the sixties and seventies. McWhorter finds this ironic as African Americans trace their origin to the West Africa, where totally different languages are spoken.

Swahili is part of the Bantu sub-family of the Niger-Congo language family. At present there are 500 Bantu languages, including Kikuyu and Kongo. The Bantu languages spoken in Northwest Africa (Nigeria, Cameroons) are totally unlike Swahili.

Colson and Zulu are very similar Bantu dialects spoken in South Africa (which only appeared in South Africa around 1600 AD. There is also a tiny island of Bantu speakers in Sudan.

Linguists believed Bantu languages emerged after the click languages (see The History of African Click Languages) and replaced them in most areas. For example, Pygmies gave up their own language when their region was overrun by Bantu speakers.
