Majority of Americans Suspect COVID-19 “Vaccines” Caused Mass Deaths

By Nicolas Hulscher

Rasmussen survey finds 56% of U.S. voters believe COVID shots caused significant deaths — and 42% say CDC employees should be fired for their pandemic response.

A new Rasmussen survey of 1,158 likely U.S. voters—conducted September 7–9, 2025, with a ±3% margin of error—reveals that 56% believe side effects from the COVID-19 shots have likely caused a significant number of unexplained deaths. Nearly one-third (32%) say it’s very likely. Only 35% still dismiss the idea.

This shows that what was once called a “conspiracy theory” has become the mainstream view. The majority of Americans now believe vaccine harms are real and widespread.

Support for HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reflects this shift. Half of voters (50%) say government health officials deserve criticism for their handling of the pandemic, while 42% even think CDC employees should be fired for their role in misleading the public. Among those who strongly believe the shots caused deaths, over 70% want CDC firings.

Partisan divides remain—70% of Republicans, 46% of Democrats, and 54% of independents think the vaccines likely caused deaths—but the skepticism crosses party lines and racial groups. In fact, black (64%) and Hispanic (57%) voters are even more likely than white voters (54%) to suspect deadly vaccine effects.

According to the survey, RFK Jr. is viewed favorably by 45% of voters, with strong support among Republicans and independents, even as Democrats turn sharply against him.

The takeaway: A credible, nationally representative poll now confirms most Americans believe COVID-19 shots have killed many people, and they want accountability from the CDC and government health leaders.

If US Wants to Survive It Must Free Itself from Israel

Phillip Giraldi

I have university degrees in ancient, medieval and early modern history but search as I may, I cannot find another example of a small, low population state largely devoid of natural resources that has been able to dominate the politics and policies of a much larger great power to the extent that Israel controls many aspects of America’s government, its economy, its education system, its media, and, most of all, its foreign and national security policies. Little Israel commands and the superpower United States obeys, a relationship that has coined the expression “the tail wags the dog.”

To be sure, Israel has resources that might be regarded as unconventional for most nation states around the globe, consisting of a large and astonishingly wealthy network of “diaspora” co-religionists who are prepared to corrupt the governments in the countries where they actually live to benefit the Jewish state in every way possible. Politicians can easily be bought by Jewish billionaires, as in the case of President Donald Trump who reportedly received $100 million as a campaign donation from Israeli Las Vegas casino magnate Miriam Adelson, plausibly in exchange for Israel having a free hand in the West Bank, up to and including total annexation and deportation of the inhabitants to eliminate a possible Palestinian state.

In the United States, this Zionist Lobby power has produced a series of presidents terrified to object to what Israel declares to be its interests, plus a Congress that has been bought and manipulated into total submission to war criminals like Israel’s ghastly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Even the US Constitution is no defense against Israel’s interests, with First Amendment free speech rights being abridged through the interpretation that any criticism of the self-described Jewish state is ipso facto a hate crime, which is a felony.

The abuse inherent in the relationship, which is hugely expensive to the US and damaging to its real interests, is fortunately beginning to be so visible that a reaction to the arrangement is beginning to penetrate to the level of the average voters. Opinion polls suggest that most Americans oppose what Israel is doing to the Palestinians, but President Donald Trump and the clowns he has appointed to high office, Zionists all, are unmoved. Hopefully they will see the light if a strong message is sent during elections coming up in November.

In a recent interview, I declared that the only real national security threat against the United States comes from Israel in that it has repeatedly pushed America into bad policy choices to serve its own interests. That means that policymakers, in search of the number one “American enemy” in the world, should look no farther than Israel and they should immediately take steps to distance themselves from Israeli initiatives. In terms of other alleged threats to the US, one must concede that most analyses coming out of Washington are essentially phony, designed to deflect from real problems, including which is what to do about Israel and the all-powerful Israeli Lobby reenforced by the “waiting for a Rapture” Christian Zionists that have taken over so much of the government. Sorry Marco Rubio but Russia, China, Iran, and Venezuela do not threaten the United States of America. Continuation of the dance of death with the Israelis will on the contrary be likely to lead to ruin for Americans.

The sad truth is that the United States gains absolutely nothing from its bondage to Israel, quite the contrary. When I was in government in CIA Stations and Bases in Europe and the Middle East I used to hear US politicians proclaiming how Israel (Mossad) shared wonderful intelligence information that made America safer. The truth was quite different as I used to see the Israel-generated reports and they were consistently puff pieces intended to make Arabs and Iranians look bad by inventing “threats.” It was that type of information, i.e. the claimed existence of WMD, promoted by Jewish neocons in the media as well as in the Defense Department and in the Vice President’s office, that led to war against a completely non-threatening Iraq that killed as many as 600,000 Iraqis.

More recent developments illuminate just how poisonous the relationship with Israel is, though one might also dare to mention long ago Jewish state perfidy like the attack on the USS Liberty in 1967 that killed 34 sailors and the suspicions about Israeli involvement in both the killing of JFK and 9/11, all of which were subject to deliberate US government cover-ups and bungled investigations. Israel does not hesitate to kill Americans, witness the cases of protester Rachel Corrie and journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, both of whom were murdered by the Israeli army. In neither case did the US Embassy demand an explanation from the Israelis.

This past June, Israel decided to attack Iran and convinced Donald Trump to join in the game, with the argument that Iran is secretly building nuclear weapons, which was not true. Israel, of course, has its own secret nuclear arsenal, and has even threatened to use the weapons in the Samson Option, but both Tel Aviv and Washington apparently regard that as perfectly acceptable. So the United States, to oblige Israel, followed on to the Israeli attack and hit selected targets in Iran. This led to a lying or ignorant, you can take your choice, Trump boasting about how he had “obliterated” the Iranian nuclear development sites, which was not true. So what was gained? Again “nothing” but the US went to war, a war crime, solely to appease Israel and spent something like $1 billion to carry out the mission.

More recently, Israel bombed a residential building in Doha, the capital of Qatar, in a bid to kill Hamas officials who were in the city to negotiate a cease fire in Gaza with the Israelis. The meeting was allegedly backed and “guaranteed” by Washington but it now appears that, at the same time, Trump or his associates were conniving with Israel to assassinate the Hamas representatives. The US has its largest air base in the Middle East in Qatar at Al Udeid with 10,000 American military on site. Mysteriously, the base’s radar and air defense system appear to have been turned off when the Israeli planes were approaching the target. One wonders who ordered that. And the planes needed to be refueled to return to Israel after the attack. Conveniently, British Royal Air Force tankers were in the area to carry out that task. Sounds like a set-up to end any chance of a ceasefire by killing Hamas envoys in an ostensibly safe country Qatar that was orchestrated by Israel, the US and Britain. And what does the United States of America gain from it? “Nothing!” Or rather, global hatred of Washington due to its groveling support of all things Israeli just crept up by ten points!

And then there is the Genocide in Gaza itself. If there is any remaining confusion about Trump’s true intentions, one might cite Netanyahu, who has asserted that he has complete American support to do whatever he wants in Gaza, “no partial deals with Hamas, go with full force.” It is nevertheless difficult to imagine how average Americans benefit by allowing the crime against humanity to go on and on, something that could be stopped with a phone call if Donald Trump had even a trace of compassion hidden somewhere in that empty head that he bears.

Regrettably, the United States is completely complicit in the atrocity that is taking place in Gaza which is clearly visible to the entire world. And the US is even paying for and providing the arms for the slaughter. There is a certain irony in the fact that Washington funds the war for Israel, which has both free medical care and free higher education for its Jewish citizens, something that many American citizens are reportedly struggling with. One might well describe it as a misplaced priority, but it is in reality yet another symptom of the power that Israel has over the United States government from top to bottom.

Finally, if any additional evidence were required to demonstrate Israel’s power over the United States, the recent block by Washington on visa issuance for Palestinian participation in the United Nations opening session in New York as well as the general ban on accepting passports issued by the Palestine Authority are steps demanded by Israel to make it impossible for Palestinians to argue their own case for statehood and decent treatment in international fora. And what does the US get out of it even though it in theory supports a two-state solution for Israel/Palestine? Nothing.

Such is the level of pure evil emanating from Israel that many have come to believe that it is capable of any crime, which is quite likely true. Conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Wednesday, reportedly had begun to entertain some criticism of Israel which had resulted in threats that led him to employ bodyguards.

As a result of that and other developments, momentum is growing to do something about Israel, which is clearly considered a threat to all the world, completely reckless in its behavior, and having “secret” nuclear weapons that it is very likely prepared to use. Suspension from the UN and the insertion of an international protection force in Gaza to stop the genocide are being discussed under the “Uniting for Peace” resolution, which empowers the General Assembly to recommend such steps to take when the Security Council is unable to act due to the expected US veto. There are also calls for Israel’s presence and privileges within the UN system to be suspended until a ceasefire in Gaza and full humanitarian access to the strip is restored.

Israeli soldiers, mothers say ‘no’ to Gaza deployment amid occupation plan

A growing number of Israeli soldiers and their mothers are refusing to return to fight in Gaza, while the regime is pushing forward with a plan to occupy the Palestinian territory.

Press TV

Despite the risk of imprisonment, newly formed groups are announcing their refusal to fight in Gaza, the Associated Press reported.

The Israeli military said in August that it would call up 60,000 reservists in the coming weeks and lengthen the term of an additional 20,000 reservists as it pushes forward with the occupation plan, starting with Gaza City.

Israelis have staged mass protests demanding a ceasefire deal and the return of the remaining 48 captives, 20 of whom are believed to be alive, slamming prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu for prolonging the war for political purposes.

Many opponents, including former senior military officials, fear the offensive will achieve little and endanger the lives of Israelis held there.

Israel also faces heavy international criticism over the humanitarian catastrophe unleashed by the war and its blockade of Gaza.

Rights groups said a humanitarian crisis could worsen in Gaza, where most residents have been displaced multiple times, neighborhoods lie in ruins, and Israeli-made famine is underway.

One group urging the leaders of the Israeli regime to stop dispatching their children into war is comprised of mothers who fear their sons will die in vain.

“I couldn’t stop thinking of how to break his leg, break his arm, wound him in some way that he won’t be able to go back,” Noorit Felsenthal-Berger said, terrified her youngest son will be forced to return.

Avshalom Zohar Sal, a 28-year-old soldier and medic who was sent to Gaza multiple times, noted that soldiers are “exhausted, demoralized and no longer know what they are fighting for.”

“Don’t put me in the position that I need to decide if I’m going to risk again my life,” he said, addressing the military, as he noted that Hamas has “vastly diminished” but is “still lethal.”

A group known as “Soldiers for Hostages” says it represents over 360 soldiers who refuse to fight.

“Netanyahu’s ongoing war of aggression needlessly puts our own hostages in danger and has wreaked havoc on the fabric of Israeli society, while at the same time killing, maiming and starving an entire population” of civilians in Gaza, Max Kresch, a member of the group, said at a news conference earlier this month.

Another group known as “Parents of Combat Soldiers Shout Enough,” also known by its slogan “Save Our Souls,” or SOS, says it represents approximately 1,000 mothers of soldiers.

“We have to be their voice,” said Felsenthal-Berger, whose two sons have fought in Gaza.

Yifat Gadot, whose 22-year-old son fought in Gaza for nine months at the start of the war, said “I told him, ‘We the mothers will do everything we can to get you out of Gaza and save you from this political war.’”

At least three soldiers associated with the “Soldiers for Hostages” group have been jailed this year for refusing to fight, with some imprisoned for up to three weeks, according to the group.

The regime’s genocidal war on Gaza has so far killed at least 64,750 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to the health ministry of Gaza.

Why Are NZ Covid Vax Deaths Only Reported Overseas?

Watch: NZ VAERS Deaths

NZDSOS

Medsafe officially acknowledges only four vaccine-related deaths in New Zealand (all from myocarditis), and ACC has paid out for 7 fatal vaccine injuries, but there are 27 deaths of New Zealanders aged under 50 reported to the US Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). There are likely many more unreported.

These aren’t statistics. These are real people. Real families. Real tragedies that deserve proper investigation; investigation that we don’t believe has been undertaken.

We look over these accounts with horror as we can only grasp the heartbreak these families have had to face over the past few years.

  • The youngest person was a 12-year-old girl. Five days after her first dose, she was dead.
  • A 13-year-old boy died of myocarditis 11 days after his second vaccination.
  • A 17-year-old girl died of a pulmonary embolism nine days after vaccination. Officials blamed her contraceptive pill, ignoring the vaccine’s known clotting risks.
  • She wasn’t the only one to die of a blood clot in the lungs. A young woman, 24, died 13 days after her first dose, a 27-year-old woman within 24 hours of her second dose and two 50-year-old women within 4 weeks of their second doses.

These are just some of the New Zealanders reported to CARM and VAERS in 2021. We are aware of many more dead young people who have not been reported, or whose details have not made it to the VAERS or CARM database – dying in their sleep, or from seizures, strokes, heart attacks and other ‘natural causes’.

Remember, this experimental injection was never properly and honestly tested on anyone – let alone teenagers – or those with underlying conditions. Watch our discussion of these 27 reports here.

US House votes to repeal president’s Middle East war powers

Al Mayadeen English

The House passes a bipartisan amendment to repeal the 1991 and 2002 Middle East war authorizations.

The 261-167 vote represents a bipartisan push to rescind the 1991 and 2002 Authorizations for Use of Military Force (AUMFs), originally enacted ahead of the Gulf War and the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The repeal was adopted as an amendment to the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and is being hailed as a victory for war powers reform advocates, who argue that outdated authorizations enable unchecked presidential use of military force.

Long-awaited win for war powers reform advocates

The amendment was co-sponsored by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) and garnered support from 49 Republicans and 212 Democrats. Advocates argue that keeping these authorizations in place enables future administrations to bypass Congress in deploying US military power.

Vietnam to close 86 million bank accounts lacking biometric data

Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Payment Department, State Bank of Vietnam. Photo: LM

Vietnamnet Global

Vietnam will close tens of millions of bank accounts by September 2025 under new digital payment regulations.

At a press conference for the 2025 “Cashless Day” held on June 2, Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Payment Department at the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), said the central bank has been actively strengthening legal and institutional frameworks to support the development of cashless payments.

With legal backing from the SBV and investments in payment infrastructure, non-cash payments have seen tremendous growth. In 2024, the total value of non-cash transactions reached over 295.2 quadrillion VND (approx. $11.57 trillion), 26 times the GDP. By the end of 2024, 86.97% of citizens aged 15 and above had bank accounts.

Compared to 2023 (87.08%), this represents a slight decline, which Mr. Tuan attributed to the ongoing data cleansing and biometric verification process.

Vietnam previously recorded 200 million bank accounts nationwide. After verification, only 113 million personal accounts and over 711,000 organizational accounts are considered active.

“This is a data-cleansing revolution,” said Tuan. “While the total number of bank accounts remains 200 million, by September 2025, once the legal framework is complete, all accounts without biometric data will be closed to prevent scams and fraud. After seven years of promoting non-cash payments, we are moving toward real efficiency.”

According to the General Statistics Office (now part of the Ministry of Finance), as of December 31, 2024, Vietnam had over 69 million adults aged 15 and above. More than 68 million of them had bank accounts, highlighting how far cashless payment adoption has come.

Tuan also noted that the 2025 “Cashless Day,” now in its seventh year, carries the theme “Non-cash payments driving digital economic development.” The event underscores that digital payments are more than just a transaction method  –  they are a strategic foundation connecting all sectors of the digital economy.

Cashless payments, he said, form the core of a seamless and evolving digital ecosystem, helping Vietnam move toward a modern, transparent, and inclusive economy.

In line with the national plan on developing cashless payments for the 2021–2025 period (under Decision No. 1813 by the Prime Minister), the SBV has closely collaborated with ministries, local authorities, and stakeholders to build legal frameworks, adopt new technologies, and innovate service models. This has led to a safer, more secure, and more user-friendly payment environment, enhancing customer experience and accelerating the transition to a cashless society.

During the first quarter of 2025, the interbank electronic payment system processed over 35.6 million transactions worth 81.47 quadrillion VND (approx. $3.19 trillion), up 9.6% in volume and 36.81% in value year-over-year.

Non-cash transactions rose 44.43% year-over-year, with Internet banking growing by 40.41%, mobile payments by 39.82%, and QR code transactions by 81.64%.

Vietnam now has nearly 10.4 million Mobile Money accounts, over 72% of which are held by users in rural, remote, and border areas.

As of March 31, 2025, there were 47 licensed e-wallet service providers, with about 30.27 million active e-wallets  –  representing 65.8% of the 46 million e-wallets issued  –  holding a total balance exceeding 2.8 trillion VND (approx. $110 million).

To ensure data security and transaction safety, the SBV has worked with the Ministry of Public Security to implement Government Project 06. So far, data for around 57 million loan applicants has been verified against the National Population Database, and biometric data for more than 111.8 million individuals has been cross-checked.

Rogue Republican closes in on securing signatures to bypass GOP’s Epstein block

U.S. Representative Thomas Massie speaks during a press conference to discuss the Epstein Files Transparency bill, directing the release of the remaining files related to the investigations into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., U.S., September 3, 2025. By Daniel Hampton

A rogue Republican is closing in on obtaining the 218 signatures necessary to bypass GOP leadership and force the House floor to vote on releasing documents related to accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has locked horns with his own party and earned fierce criticism from President Donald Trump over his quest to have the files released.

Politico reported Wednesday he inched closer to securing the votes to do just that, with the swearing in of Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA) who cruised to victory in a special election on Tuesday night and signed Massie’s petition a day later.

“The discharge petition in the House … is really the only mechanism to circumvent that ironclad control that Donald Trump has over my Republican colleagues,” Walkinshaw told the outlet.

With Walkinshaw’s support, Massie and fellow Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) need just one more House signature to complete their endeavor. And they have good odds to do just that, as a Democrat is expected to win a Sept. 23 special election in Arizona to replace the late Rep. Raúl Grijalva.

Trump has been dogged by the Epstein scandal, with a recent report coming to light that he sent Epstein a bawdy doodle for the disgraced financier’s 50th birthday. Trump insists the scandal is a Democratic “hoax.”

Indonesia’s War of Independence Against the Dutch

Indonesia: Selling a Colonial War

Al Jazeera (2025)

Film Review

Prior to declaring independence, the islands of Indonesia (aka the Dutch East Indies) were a Dutch colony for over 300 years. After occupying Japanese troops withdrew on August 17, 1945 they immediately declared under their first president Sukarno. In 1942 when the Japanese invaded, Indonesians initially viewed the Japanese as fellow Asians come to liberate them. This attitude changed as they were crowded into brutal forced labor. At the same time the Japanese provided military training to two million Indonesian youth, which would prove useful in the country’s struggle for independence.

There was considerable intermarriage between Dutch residents and Indonesian natives, with their children enjoying the same elite status as whites. When these elites returned home from Japanese prison camps and raised the Dutch flag, these Japanese-trained militias viciously targeted Dutch, Indo-European and Chinese Indonesians.

Following instant recognition as an independent sovereign state, on July 21, 1947 the declared war against the new Indonesian government. At a time when the Dutch constitution banned sending conscript overseas, they portrayed the invasion as a humanitarian project to suppress civil unrest. Sukarno, falsely labeled as a communist, was arrested during the “police action.”

Under US, Australian and Indian pressure, the UN Security Council demanded the Dutch withdraw their troops and officially recognize Indonesian independence. The US was particularly angry that the Netherlands was spending the $500 million they received under the Marshall Plan on a war to block Indonesia independence.

On December 27, 1949, the Dutch withdrew their troops and transferred sovereignty to Indonesia. Between 1950 and 1970, 380,000 Dutch and Indo-Europeans left everything behind to emigrate to the Netherlands.

1952 saw the first of many investigations of war crimes (against civilians) Dutch troops committed in Indonesia between 1947 and 1949. It resulted in a 1954 report placing responsibility for the war crimes on “civil authorities,” which meant that no one was charged or tried for war crimes. Following its release, Indonesian villagers affected by Dutch genocidal activities made a demand for reparations.

1971 saw a law enacted ending the statute of limitations on Dutch war crimes, except for those committed in Indonesia.

In 2016 the Dutch media finally acknowledged the war crimes their government had committed in Indonesia between 1947-49. More recently the Dutch government has allocated $4 million for a proposed $30 million project to investigate these atrocities.

Residents of Alaska Town Battle to Block 120-foot 5G Tower

sitka, alaska and cell tower

Residents of Sitka, Alaska, with help from Children’s Health Defense’s Stop 5G initiative, are pulling out all the stops to prevent construction of the tower. They said they don’t need the services Tidal Network wants to provide, as they already have adequate wireless services through another company.

Residents of Sitka, Alaska, with help from Children’s Health Defense’s (CHD) Stop 5G initiative, are doing all they can to prevent the construction of a 120-foot cell tower in their neighborhood.

The tower would be a “mere 145 feet” away from homes, “which is shockingly close,” Sitka residents Kelly Sweeney and Robert Krehbiel told The Defender in an email.

“It’s so close to my home, I could stand on my back porch and hit it with a rock,” said resident Hal Spackman.

After learning about the proposed tower, residents researched the risks of living in close proximity to cell towers and testified at an April 2 hearing before the city’s planning and zoning commission about why the tower was a bad idea.

The residents later formed Sitka for Safe Tech and sought legal help through CHD’s Stop 5G initiative.

Public opposition to the tower was so great that, initially, the project was defeated. However, Tidal Network, the wireless company that wants to build the tower, isn’t giving up.

Miriam Eckenfels, director of CHD’s Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) & Wireless Program, said she is proud of the Sitka residents’ strong efforts to protect their neighborhood. “We know the fight might not be over and are prepared to fight alongside them as this battle continues.”

Cell tower would be in a landslide area

In February, Tidal Network asked the city for a variance to allow the company to erect the massive tower, even though the local code specifies a 35-foot maximum height restriction for such projects.

The company proposes to build the tower on a site that commonly experiences landslides.

After the city alerted residents living within 500 feet via a letter, Sitka for Safe Tech members researched the risks and wrote letters to the commission members.

According to the residents, the tower would have a negative visual impact on the neighborhood’s character, decrease property values and pose landslide risks.

Sitka is a remote island town of roughly 8,400 residents with spectacular scenery, wildlife and tight-knit neighborhoods.

The commission opted to delay voting on the issue until April 16 to give city staff time to enter all the testimony and discussion into the record. At the April 16 meeting, the commission unanimously denied the variance, signaling strong local opposition to Tidal Network’s plan.

However, Tidal Network on April 28 appealed the commission’s decision.

By city law, Sitka’s assembly would have been the authority to consider the appeal. However, at its May 29 meeting, when it was scheduled to hear the appeal, four of the six assembly members disclosed conflicts — including that they live in the neighborhood.

The assembly then directed the city to have the Alaska Office of Administrative Hearings hear the appeal. That meant that the decision would rest on the shoulders of a single judge.

On July 30, the residents filed a petition to intervene as parties in the appeal case before the state’s Office of Administrative Hearings, both as individuals who own property abutting the proposed tower site and as Sitka for Safe Tech.

Tidal Network argued in an Aug. 7 brief that the residents shouldn’t be allowed to intervene in the suit.

On Aug. 8, the judge ruled that the residents couldn’t join the suit as intervening parties, but that they could “submit a brief on relevant legal points and provide comment through counsel” at the appeal’s hearing on Aug. 21.

Sitka for Safe Tech submitted their brief on Aug. 14. W. Scott McCollough, lead litigator for CHD’s EMR & Wireless cases, spoke on their behalf at the Aug. 21 hearing.

McCollough said he thought the hearing went well. “We were able to get all our points across, especially on the safety risks and, in particular, how inappropriate this site is given demonstrated landslide risks.”

He added:

“This is not a slam dunk by any stretch. … But the bottom line is that the wireless company has to convince the judge to overturn each and every of the five findings by the planning commission.”

That won’t be easy, McCollough said.

The judge gave Tidal Network until Sept. 5 to respond to the residents’ points made through McCollough and their brief, and will decide by Sept. 12, according to McCollough.

Residents say tower isn’t needed

Tidal Network is run by the Central Council of the Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.

According to a webpage about the council’s tribal enterprises, the telecom company “strives to connect communities and residents of Southeast Alaska by increasing access to broadband internet and providing training for digital literacy.”

Tidal Network contends the tower would improve internet and phone service.

Sitka for Safe Tech says Sitka is already well-served by an existing provider, GCI, which provides affordable broadband and mobile service, including plans for $7.50/month for low-income residents.

Sitka for Safe Tech also opposes the tower because they believe it would set a “dangerous precedent” by allowing tall towers in a residential zone, Sweeney and Krehbiel said.
