Israeli criminal networks are using drones and balloons to smuggle narcotics into Jordan, exploiting rising prices in the kingdom, according to a report published by The Telegraph on Tuesday.
The newspaper cited officials who said quadcopter drones were being used to transport crystal meth, amphetamines and hashish across the border, while photographs from military sources showed balloons being used in smuggling operations.
Jordanian military sources told The Telegraph that Israeli announcements about weapons-smuggling attempts from Jordan present a selective picture of cross-border activity while overlooking drug trafficking into the kingdom. One source said Jordanian border guards had thwarted several attempts to smuggle narcotics from Israel in recent months.
Figures reviewed by The Telegraph indicate that Jordanian forces have intercepted more than 15,000 Captagon pills, nearly 20,000 kilograms of crystal meth and 6,000 blocks of hashish since the beginning of 2026, alongside other narcotics.
