The attack coincided with an escalation of Israel’s campaign of destruction, ethnic cleansing, and occupation in south Lebanon
An Israeli drone targeted a civilian vehicle that was being escorted by the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) in south Lebanon on 2 August, injuring several civilians and Lebanese soldiers.
“Five military personnel were slightly injured in the town of Kafra in the Bint Jbeil District as a result of a hostile Israeli attack, while they were accompanying an army vehicle escorting residents in the town,” the LAF said in a statement.
Official Lebanese media said an Israeli drone targeted a civilian vehicle being escorted by the LAF, dropping a bomb on the Sribbine intersection in Bint Jbeil district, adding that several soldiers and citizens were wounded.
Earlier, large explosions rocked south Lebanon as Israeli occupation forces escalated their brutal campaign of detonating civilian infrastructure and attacking Lebanese towns and villages.
Heavy blasts were heard in multiple parts of the south on Sunday, including the town of Kounine in Nabatieh.
Occupation troops “carried out a powerful explosion in the town of Taybeh, in the Marjayoun District,” a National News Agency (NNA) correspondent reported on Sunday afternoon.
Israeli forces targeted Bint Jbeil’s Haddatha with tank shells and machine gun fire as well.
Meanwhile, Israeli drones flew over multiple areas of the country, including the capital Beirut, buzzing at low altitude.
Massive explosions caused by Israeli detonation of homes had been heard hours earlier in Bint Jbeil, during the early hours of 2 August.
The Israeli army released an official statement on Sunday saying its 401st Brigade “completed” its “mission” in south Lebanon.
The 401st Brigade suffered unprecedented losses at the hands of Hezbollah resistance fighters at the height of clashes during Israel’s latest invasion, which began earlier this year.
Resistance fighters remain entrenched across Israel’s “security zone” in south Lebanon.
Over the weekend, a deadly clash broke out between Hezbollah’s forces and occupation troops near the Ali al-Taher area.
Israeli forces have not stopped attacking that area, which is said to be the site of a key Hezbollah facility where scores of the resistance group’s fighters are reportedly deployed.
Early on Saturday morning, an officer from the Israeli army’s elite Egoz Unit was injured by Hezbollah. The wounded officer was reportedly airlifted to an Israeli hospital.
Israel’s reserve forces are on the brink of collapse, and Israeli troops are suffering from serious manpower and equipment shortages in Lebanon, according to both Israeli reports and official statements.
However, the occupation continues to prevent LAF forces from deploying across the south as part of the so-called ceasefire deal and is openly refusing withdrawal.
This deal includes the so-called ‘pilot zone’ project. Lebanese authorities are reportedly seeking to add Bint Jbeil to the pilot zone mechanism. If Tel Aviv refuses, Lebanon will request that Khiam become a pilot zone, according to Saudi news outlet Al-Hadath and other reports.
Israeli troops faced fierce resistance in Khiam both during the 2024 invasion as well as the latest Israeli war on Lebanon. Occupation forces remain present in parts of the town.
Recent days have seen the LAF deploy to Zawtar al-Gharbieh, one of three US-backed “pilot zones” in the south launched as part of an illegal agreement signed between Tel Aviv and Beirut and brokered by Washington.
Lebanese army forces were shot at by Israeli occupation forces the same day they entered.
According to the Lebanon–Israel deal, the LAF is supposed to replace occupation troops in the three pilot zones.
But the two other pilot zones were never occupied to begin with, because the Israeli army failed to enter them during ground clashes with Hezbollah at the start of the war. The plan has been described as a bid to solidify the Israeli occupation in Lebanon.
Over 4,300 have been killed and more than a million displaced by Israel in Lebanon since 2 March. Dozens of Israeli soldiers have been killed by resistance fighters.

The Most Revolutionary Act 
Hi Stuart… Hope all is well with you!!… I have not been watching the blogs as closely as I once did… As you know, several years ago, a poster going by ‘Q’ posted QUESTIONS, which Q asked the public to do ‘deep research’ on in order to discover truth… I remember how the media vilified what became known as ‘Q drops’..
Vilified or not, all that digging around for info led to truths that even History Books didn’t elaborate on!.. Often we heard ‘trust the plan’… for a long while, we didn’t see evidence of the ‘plan’ in action.. NOW we do!.. The attack on the ‘deep state’ is evident now.. The importance of ‘clean up’ is evident now.. Actions that were promised are now apparent…
One thing still confusing is the statement ‘Israel is being saved for last for a very special reason’.. Remember the cease fire between Israel and Hamas?… Israel violated it and initiated an attack… A leak stated that when Trump called Netanyahu, Trump was so angry he dropped the ‘F word 9 times… I think you know that I’m not an anti-semite, I am just trying to make sense of the world around me… lol.. Thank you for all you do!!…

Hi Deb, great to hear from you. The last 5 years have definitely been a profound learning experience for me. I think the most important thing a lot of us have learned is not to get trapped in left-right silos. Here in New Zealand we have formed a really strong “brown-green” coalition between left-leaning and right-leaning populists. I think the situation in the Middle East is going really well for people of all persuasions seeking to prevent the corporate oligarchs from enacting their feudal agenda. From what I hear from Iranian commentators, Iran is now fully confident about shutting down all the US military bases in the Gulf and forming a pan-Arab Gulf coalition with the other GCC countries. It sounds to me like they are pretty confident of bringing Gaza into the next peace agreement they negotiate with the US.
Now that Russia has successfully blockaded Odessa, analysts are predicting the war in Ukraine should be over by the ended of the year. And with US weapons stocks being so seriously depleted, it’s virtually impossible for the US to go to war against China over Taiwan. I suspect the US and its allies will struggle economically for awhile, but from everything I’ve read I fully expect the BRICS countries will help the US re-industrialize and rebuild their crippled infrastructure – as this is totally consistent with the multipolar world view they endorse.
As for Iran refraining from attacking Israel at the moment, I think they are very cautious about provoking Israel into following their Samson doctrine and launching a nuclear attack. From what I hear, the current Israeli leadership is deliberately trying to get the whole world to hate them because they believe it will precipitate Armegeddan and the coming of their Messiah.
