Three Israeli soldiers and a ‘civilian’ will be indicted on espionage charges after allegedly maintaining long-term contact with Iran-linked operatives and carrying out tasks on their behalf, Israeli media reported on Friday, citing a joint statement by the Israeli military, police, and intelligence services.
The soldiers, who were trainees at an Israeli Air Force technical school, are suspected of photographing military facilities at the direction of their handler, as well as filming public infrastructure and the placement of security cameras, i24NEWS reported.
Israeli occupation authorities said the contact began while the soldiers were still minors, before their conscription into the Israeli army. The suspects, residents of Kiryat Yam and Kiryat Shmona in northern occupied territories, allegedly communicated between January and March 2025 with individuals posing as Iranian agents under the usernames “NOVITAMIN” and “CLARK” on Telegram.
