France’s President, Emmanuel Macron, has condemned the reported deadly Israeli strike on a hospital in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday night, urging for humanitarian aid to be allowed into the besieged Territory.
On Tuesday night, a missile struck the compound of the Al-Ahli Arabi hospital in Gaza City, with a massive explosion being seen and heard, killing at least 300. Other reports put the number at over 500, and some at over 800 or 1,000.
Following the strike, French President, Emmanuel Macron, stated on X that “Nothing can justify striking a hospital. Nothing can justify targeting civilians. France condemns the attack on the Al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, which made so many Palestinian victims. Our thoughts are with them. All the light must be shed on the circumstances.”

Of course, the French don’t even like Macron, but in this case, I’ll overlook Macron’s many, many faults and grant him this one decent thing he’s done. Not to mention that the Africans are trying to expel the French as well. It seems they’re tired of paying a colonization tax to France as well as having to entertain a continued French occupation. It seems no one is getting along these days and the situation is only going to get worse.

Shelby,
I agree with you, but I wish you wouldn’t make predictions about the situation getting worse. Macron was an investment banker and seems to blow with the wind. I’m glad he condemned the hospital strike. France is much closer to the hot spots now than is the US, and Gaza needs allies.

True, Katharine. You must know by now that I am born pessimist. I am “walking doom and gloom,” doncha know. But in this instance, I’ll hope for the best. How’s that? LOL

Telling the truth this one time won’t help Macron in the next election.

Maybe not. He has not been a unifying force within France.

I have no idea if France can be saved, but, Marine Le Pen will truly try.

I share your hope, papasha408, that Le Pen will offer an alternative.

Shelby,
Symbolism speaks its own language, as with dreams. Astrology is a symbolic language. In Libra, the scales represent the ideal of balance, but when out of balance, they tip to one extreme or the other. No middle ground.
The several Libras in my life are charming, until something tips their balance. Then they are capable of extremes of rage that are frightening to anyone not familiar with the pattern. Once the scales balance again, the Libra, Venus ruled, reverts to that charming self.
Once burned by Libra rage, it’s hard to forget it. With my sister, I’ve learned to back off until she calms down. It may take a few months, but I am a patient person, and it’s worth the wait. She always redeems herself, eventually.

Oh, my goodness! That sounds just like me! Especially the charming part! LOL! I’m just kidding. The rage AND the charming part, both! Wow! I learn something new every day. Katherine, you are a veritable fountain of knowledge, as well as information or are they one and the same? But be that as it may,, I absolutely adore your comments. I am in the process of

To be honest, I think Shelby has good reason to be pessimistic.

Agreed. There is a lot of justification for it. But I also believe focusing on problems feeds the problem, so, I try to change focus whenever I can.

Apparently Macron went to China recently, Shelby. According to what I hear, he didn’t want to go but the CEOs of major French corporations forced him to go. They don’t want a world war because it’s very bad for business.

But business is booming for Boeing, Lockheed, Raytheon, General Dynamics and the other makers of war products. I just read that Biden is asking those companies to ramp up availability of their products. They’ve sent submarines and fighter jets over to “help out Israel.” For the love of !!!!!
