  1. I have to wonder how anyone is handling nuclear waste and waste water. Nuclear power plants use lots of water for cooling, and I’m sure that water gets contaminated with radioactivity. There was a scandal here in Savannah when Plant Vogtle adjacent to an old bomb factory upriver from me, in Augusta, GA, spilled tritium into the Savannah River.

Given that there are many nuclear power plants, as well as nuclear arms storage sites, around the world, I can’t say this is just Japan’s problem, but I don’t have ideas about how to deal with it.

  2. That nuclear mess should have been left alone; it should have never been used. It is too dangerous; anything radioactive is dangerous. For me, personally, I would not mind driving a horse and buggy, reading a book by oil lamp, growing my own food and just weeding the garden without the use of herbicides. I grew up weeding the garden and it didn’t hurt me none. We humans want to take the easy route and spray some harsh chemicals as opposed to bending our backs and tugging at some weeds. That’s what we did, and we were all the better for it. Now look at where we are, all fucked up!!! Radioactive waste being dumped into the oceans because we’ve got to power up electricity. I wish I had grown up in an earlier era before electricity was even thought of because we are certainly not the better for it.
