From the very beginning, everyone was oblivious of the “elephant in the room”, that COVID-19 shares 65-82% genome with other main Coronaviruses like the flu or common cold, which explains why the T cells give 40-60% innate immunity to Covid-19.

  1. This looks very interesting to me, Stuart.
For instance, I never applied for a flu vaccination. There were some years, when I did have some symptoms of flu. But then I was only mildly sick for one or two days. So in winter, I always attempted to stay warm enough. And I always felt, I could not stand air-conditioning very well. So I like to stay away from shopping centres as much as possible. 🙂

      • As I said, I never suffered really bad flu symptoms. If you asked me when did I last have any flu symptoms, I could not tell you. It must have been quite a few years ago. Otherwise I would probably have some kind of memory of it. I forgot, in what year I did not feel alright for as couple of days or so. And I think Peter too very seldom had any flu symptoms and definitely not for the last few years of his life. He never had any flu injections either except once, when he was already very close to his death. Then he was advised to be vaccinated against flu as a precaution.

  2. This article from July:

The people with hidden immunity against Covid-19 – BBC Future
    https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20200716-the-people-with-hidden-protection-from-covid-19

Suggests that T cell immunity triggered by earlier exposure to other corona viruses (common cold) protects against Covid.

I found this article while unsuccessfully searching for another article which described the mystery of why Yorkshire in northern England had the highest level of T-cell immunity to Covid outside London, yet had among the lowest level of Covid infections in the country.
