On Oct. 16, Pfizer’s CEO indicated the company would likely file for FDA Emergency Use Authorization for its experimental BNT162b2 vaccine in late November. That statement came three days after Pfizer announced that it had received FDA permission to administer the unproven vaccine to children as young as 12, becoming the first company in the U.S. to include young participants in Phase 3 trials.

Are these parents (perhaps left unemployed by coronavirus restrictions) tempted by the financial incentives offered to clinical trial participants, reportedly anywhere from$1200to$2000?

My reaction entirely, Trace. Yet if we refuse to trust in the benevolence of corporations, we’re accused of being conspiracy theorists.

We should start a club of entirely sane thinkers.

I wouldn’t go that far, Trace. I’ve never made any claim to sanity myself. I doubt I would qualify for admission that that kind of club.

I don’t need to read the article to state that Pfizer has been on my hit list ever since the US Supreme Court Kelo decision in 2007. Pfizer was behind the decision 5-4 to support eminent domaining Susette Kelo’s neighborhood in New London, Connecticut because the county wanted to build on the property that was adjacent to Pfizer’s planned global research facility. Pfizer, after getting all its tax credits and other government favors, abandoned the project, and Susette Kelo’s formerly established neighborhood is now empty.
But the Kelo decision prompted local governments around the US to start eminent domaining poor neighborhoods for a litany of “public service” uses, meaning they were razed in lieu of various development schemes, with strong links between local governments and buddy-buddy real estate developers.
I watched this first hand, since I was doing locum tenens work at the time, and reading local newspapers in places like Knoxville, TN, Tuscaloosa, AL, and Dublin, GA, as well as in my home town of Savannah, GA.
I wouldn’t put anything past Pfizer.

Fortunately, Mike, a growing number of people are coming around to a viewpoint of healthy distrust when it comes to vaccines.
