Over Half Of All Young Adults Are Living With Their Parents – Highest Level In Modern American History

A new report by the Pew Research Center found that a majority of young adults — 52% — lived with one or both of their parents in July. Pew’s analysis of monthly Census Bureau data notes that this is higher than any previous measurement.

  1. You may both be right. One of the biggest fears when my generation left home was that we would have difficulty supporting ourselves and be forced to move back home. However the pre-Baby Boom generation was pretty dysfunctional – thanks to the neurotic fifties and all those traumatized war veterans who refused to talk about the war. Trace may have a point, though. Intergenerational relations seem to have improved a bit since then.
