Last month, the US justice and interior departments announced a $1 billion settlement over nearly 56 million acres of Indian land held in trust by Washington but exploited by commercial interests for timber, farming, mining and other uses with little benefit to the tribes.

Wow, is right, Trace. There seem to be people speaking out at the UN that wouldn’t have dared to 20 years ago.

That’s just commonsense, Lara. But I sense the ruling oligarchy is rapidly losing their grip on power. I was impressed to see Evanston Illinois use part of the marijuana tax for African American reparations.
Of course, none of this will happen without continuing struggle. Here in New Zealand, Maori fought and won the establishment of the Waitangi Tribunal in 1975. It provides a vehicle for families to have their lands returned. It’s still a long slow process and depends on a fair degree on the part of Maori. But it does happen.

Good luck with that idea …….. It appears Iraq doesn’t seem to be getting its land back from the American occupying forces right now! And they are OVER THERE!

Given the strength of al Sadr and his extremely well organized and disciplined militias, I think Trump now has a clear choice of withdrawing US troops from Iraq or losing the 2020 election:
