Almost half of new US cancer patients lose their entire life savings

Even if you have insurance, it may not cover all the medical costs associated with cancer. From high deductibles to large copayments, cancer patients can end up with a huge stack of bills.

  1. Same in NZ. I’ve watched a few people get milked of all their savings with a ‘new’ cure that ‘might work’. One woman spent $2million and passed on anyway. Wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t know there are actually natural cures for it that big Pharma doesn’t want people to know about & in fact are actively discouraged by their Doctors. Very sad.

    • You have no idea what cancer is, lady. The greedy medical systems and social systems destroy people who have been ill.

Why print such ? People who do not treat cancer seriously will die . The governments and corporations, that cause the cancer shouuld be held more responsible. They should have to pay, to help their victims.

  2. Too true, Pam. Over here in New Plymouth the waiting list for semi-urgent referrals is so long that many seniors (like me) have to pay privately for specialty care. Without private health insurance (which is increasingly dear), this can get extremely expensive.
