The development and distribution of life saving and health promoting pharmaceuticals should be a public utility run for community benefit. Instead the powers that be have handed it over to for-profit monopolies. Already many new drugs are discovered at taxpayer expense (via the VA and NIH). They are then handed over, for a pittance, to Big Pharma. Who set prescription prices so high that many of us have to choose between taking our medication and heating our homes in the winter.
Te capitalist system ensures that for-profit monopolies can accumulate more and more profits . . . . It is a shame that there is not much left for community benefits.

What I find really sad, Aunty, is that most government spending either goes for military expenditure or to pay off debt owed to financial institutions.

Could this be because the military industrial complex and banks own ‘our ‘ governments outright and we are their milk cows? (Loud sarcastic snort!)

I would say so, Sha’Tara. A pity they don’t teach this stuff in school – it would have save me a lot of time and mental anguish.
