Thousands of Yellow Vest protesters have destroyed 60 percent of the speed cameras in France in response to the government’s lowering of speed limits last July.
The protests, which began in November as a protest to an environmentally friendly fuel tax, have expanded to an anti-globalist movement reflecting the values of millions of ordinary citizens.
Usnews.com reports: According to CNN, speed limits were decreased from 56 mph to 50 mph on two-lane highways – a decision officials made in an effort to reduce vehicle accidents and deaths.
But the protesters feel the speed cameras are only a way for the country to take money from poor, the BBC reported.

They can just cut the bullshit that speed cameras are for ‘our’ benefit. That is a bald faced lie! Speed cameras benefit the government since the government steals our money and does what it wants and this also benefits the corporations that make those cameras and operate them. It has fuck all to do with safety! They get enough money from us since we’ve got to license ourselves, our vehicles, we are taxed on our vehicles. We pay to have our vehicles inspected and in some cases, we also pay for emissions testing and for what I don’t know because that does not stop the carbon emissions from mucking up the planet.
I say, “Way ta go ‘yellow vests’! Keep it up!”

Shelby, it seems to me if the government wanted to limit the speed of automobiles they would require manufacturers to set a maximum speed. I’m sure speed cameras are very useful in surveillance and spying on us.
