Ford may have to cut production of some models, which will reduce U.S. jobs, and all these are because of tariff war with China, which the U.S. has initiated.

  1. The Fords most believe to have been built in Canada are almost entirely bolt in China, then shipped to Canada for minor work and so declared of Canadian manufacture. We are told that 2017 Ford income was $7.6 billion and that there will be a drop in profits this year. The company is embarking $11 billion in restructuring. “… planned reorganization that will cut salaried jobs as the automaker seeks to improve profits and revive its stock price.” Anyone see vast production through robotics?

    • Henry Ford used to say that he wanted to build an automobile his workers could afford to buy. That policy has changed to almost everyone’s detriment. If Chinese (and Mexican) workers were fairly paid, then almost everyone would benefit, individuals and nations. People being what we are, it is not always cream that has risen to the top.
