Correction: Now that Bayer has bought Monsanto, the new headquarters is in Germany.
Hanoi is demanding justice for the victims who were exposed to Agent Orange by the US military during the Vietnam War.
They are demanding compensation from the St. Louis-based company for the notorious chemical they supplied to the US army which caused millions of Vietnamese, over several generations, to suffer severe health problems and birth defects.
The move follows the unprecedented $289mn verdict against Monsanto in California.
Founded in 1901 in St Louis, Missouri, Monsanto began producing agrochemicals in the 1940s. It was acquired by Bayer for over $62 billion in June.
RT reports: After a San Francisco jury proved Monsanto not invincible and ordered the chemical giant to pay $289 million to a school worker who argued he got terminal cancer after using its Roundup herbicide, Vietnam has also demanded compensation from the St. Louis-based company.

The Vietnamese should have long since been going after Monsanto for damages because the damages sustained by the Vietnamese people are innumerable. They are off the scales because that area was saturated with Agent Orange and Napalm bombs. Those people will never recover from what the U.S. military used to eliminate forest cover. Their soil is tainted. The people are toxin filled and so they had many reasons to go after Monsanto long before now. I hope they prevail. The lines to sue for compensation are out the door now and my sincere hope is that Bayer regrets the day it purchased Monsanto.

Same here, Shelby. I also hope the Vietnamese prevail. And all the people in Iraq who have been exposed to depleted uranium and had their infrastructure destroyed. And the people of Afghanistan, Syria and Yugoslavia. And America’s African American community. The relentless Wall Street pursuit of profit has come at immense cost to the majority of the people on earth.

Interesting how German Bayer bought Monsanto and then swiftly came one of the biggest verdicts in years $200 million plus for a cancer victim of Round Up. One wonders if they cooperated with the CIA and followed American orders to stop NORD Stream 11 if they would have received more friendly information! Damn those crazy Russians lol!!!

Interesting hypothesis PeaceFrog. I wasn’t aware of Bayer’s involvement in Nord Stream. Can you tell me more?

Bayer is not involved in Nord Stream 11. The Monsanto deal was closed on June, 4 2018. A $289 million dollar settlement was reached with a single California cancer patient exposed to Round Up in this month. I was just hypothesizing there might be a nexus. Perhaps the fortunes of German multinationals are tied to the political pliancy of the German government with the desires of Washington. Bayer had to know there were lawsuits out there. However, a 20 percent drop in their stock price means they probably underestimated those liabilities: https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=WMKFW7mkGd6R0PEP-_iqoA8&q=bayer+stock&oq=bayer+stock&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i131k1j0l9.803.3468.0.3862.12.10.0.1.1.0.197.1150.1j9.10.0….0…1c.1.64.psy-ab..1.11.1168.0..35i39k1j0i67k1j0i131i20i263i264k1j0i131i67k1j0i20i264k1j0i20i263k1j0i131i20i264k1.0.2sCFfPVCWtQ

You make good points, Seven. I also feel it’s important to send a message to powerful corporations and their government lackeys that chemical trespass is a form of violence and won’t be tolerated. Thanks for your comment.
