Shut down the FDA, start over

“FDA documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, revealed that the FDA has been concealing from the medical community and the public serious research misconduct; including fraud, deception, avoidable risks for human subjects — even deaths — that occurred in clinical trials [of medical drugs].”

  1. Who in the world still thinks that the FDA is a friend of the consumer? Get real! The FDA is useless to the American people. The medicines that are approved by the FDA actually include, “May cause death!” and yet, it is approved by the FDA. If the idea of a medication is to prevent death, then why is death an acceptable side effect? How does that even begin to make sense?

So, yeah! I am going to go to the doctor because I am depressed and then get a shitload of prescriptions, all approved by the FDA and the majority of those prescriptions are going to have these side effects: “Ketoacidosis, rapid heart rate, weight gain, edema, glaucoma, uncontrollable facial twitching, seizures, slurred speech, difficulty walking or controlling muscle movements, breathing problems, spasms, Parkinsonism, erectile dysfunction, missed menstrual periods, inability to maintain body temperature, DEATH!, and the list is endless. Of course, I want to take a medication that has the potential to cause ALL of those side effects. Seriously??!!! And medications that cause all of the aforementioned have been approved by the FDA and don’t even get me started on what is allowed to go into our food. That would take me at least three paragraphs and I could not even touch the tip of the iceberg.

Do your research for yourselves and never look to any governmental agency for the last word in what is okay to put into your body. The FDA, like all other governmental agencies like the EPA, etc., are all in the pockets of corporations and big pharma is most definitely in cahoots with the FDA. So, yes, I am in favor of “Shutting down the FDA!”

  2. Shelby, I really hanker for the old days when citizens groups dealt directly with business people who cheated them – either by trashing their premises or running them out of town. History shows so-called regulatory agencies were created to protect corporations from angry customers and not the other way around. Thanks for commenting.
