Between 2006 and 2010 the deployment of US special forces troops in Africa increased 300 per cent. However, from 2010 to 2017 the numbers of deployed troops exploded by nearly 2000 per cent, occupying more than 60 outposts tasked with carrying out over 100 missions at any given moment across the continent.

  1. How can anyone not get a clue as to the fact that Americans are kept in the dark about what is going on when things of this nature surface? How can we continue to act as though this country is not doing a damn thing wrong? Why is it that we continue to laud the military when we know that what the military is engaged in is most likely, criminal? As long as no one from another country is bombing us to smithereens and we get to continue to gas up the SUV and turn up the AC or the heat in our McMansions in our gated communities, what do we care? We simply parrot what we’re told and damn the consequences until we learn that an American soldier had has ass handed to him.

    I read that the Black soldier that was killed along with three others in Niger recently worked at Wal-Mart before signing up and so I guess that goes to what you’ve been saying all along in that we have people who for reasons of trying to escape poverty are signing up to ‘kill or be killed’. I also read an article whereas the widow of this dead soldier stated that she was never even allowed to see her dead husband’s body. She stated that for all she knew, the coffin was empty. How is it that this is allowed? We are so damn fearful that we just sit around and suck on our thumbs and nod to that patriotic bullshit we are fed and never do a damn thing about this outrageous shit! For the love of !!!

  2. I really have no response for the questions you raise, Shelby. I am as baffled as you are. I assume that access to the Internet is increasing, especially now that people can access the Web cheaply via their smart phones (I assume – I still have a dumb phone which I only use for emergencies.).

    I can recall as a child when all the working class African American mothers of my acquaintance encouraged their sons to sign up for the military – in their minds (despite the risk) this was the only way they could be sure of a) keeping them out of jail or b) being shot by the police.

    A very typical (and sad) individual solution for a problem (mass incarceration) the whole society should be organizing collectively to address.

  3. Hi Stuart, good to hear from you again; been on awol;

    As Judge Anna says, there was no civil war, or any other war, only foreign corporate mercenary conflicts; inland piracy of the military industrial bank BAR complex and, in the case of Africa the pirates are after our minerals and resources;

    The truth is we have no governments, no military and no law; this is the new world order;

    We must notify them that their game is up; in peace

    PS: Stu, my browser tab says re: your blog “not secure”; dunno what that means; freedom is not secure? life on this planet is not secure? he he; be blessed

  4. I’ve just spent the last 6 months campaigning for a seat in the New Zealand parliament – which has been pretty overwhelmed.

    You’re right about there being no rule of law – the only law is the ruthless greed of the wealthy elite and their multinational corporations.

    I think all browsers now are starting to label sites with politically incorrect opinions as “insecure.” I view the label as a badge of honor.
