I love the quote from Donald Trump advocating for single payer health care in 2000.
The Canadian plan also helps Canadians live longer and healthier than Americans. . . . We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing.
— Donald Trump, The America We Deserve (2000)
The new American Health Care Act has been unveiled, and critics are calling it more flawed even than the Obamacare it was meant to replace. Dubbed “Ryancare” or “Trumpcare” (over the objection of White House staff), the Republican health care bill is under attack from left and right, with even conservative leaders calling it “Obamacare Lite”, “bad policy”, a “warmed-over substitute,” and “dead on arrival.”
The problem for both administrations is that they have been trying to fund a bloated, inefficient, and overpriced medical system with scarce taxpayer funds, without capping its costs. US healthcare costs in 2016 averaged $10,345 per person, for a total of $3.35 trillion dollars, a…

I REALLY DO NOT THINK WE SHOULD GO TO SINGLE PAYER, WE CAN REORGANIZE MEDICAID, NOW THIS PHYSICIAN HAS THE RIGHT IDEA:

Pre-paid medical care only works if the doctor has some way of excluding the really poor and the really sick from their practice – or if they have an independent source of income. I have known way too many doctors who have gone bankrupt trying to run prepaid medical practices. And once that happens the community is left with no doctor at all.
Why do you oppose single payer health care, Futuret? At the moment, the US is the only industrialized country where the government doesn’t fund health care for all its residents. Surely health care is just as important as education and the US still funds basic education for everyone (though this may end soon if Betsy DeVos gets her way). Why is the US so different that they shouldn’t guarantee health care for all their citizens.
Single payer health care covers everyone and its far less expensive than allowing private insurance to run the health care system. They automatically take 25% off the top for profit and CEO salaries. Here in New Zealand, health care administrative costs are under 10% and no one is denied care due to inability to pay.
This is one of the delights about coming to live here – for the first time in my life I can go to the doctor or the hospital and not worry about how I’m going to pay for it.

THAT IS TRUE, THAT ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS ARE HIGH HERE. WE ALSO HAVE A DIFFERENT BREED OF CEOS HERE, THAN YOU HAVE IN NEW ZEALAND. OUR CEOS HERE, WOULD SELL THEIR OWN MOTHERS FOR A DOLLAR, IF THEY COULD. I DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT NEW ZEALAND, IN REFERENCE TO HEALTH CARE IS THERE ANY WAITING LINES FOR ANY PROCEDURES, OR ANY WAITING LINES FOR CERTAIN SURGERIES?

Yes, there are currently waiting lines – creatied deliberately by our current National government. They’re trying to turn popular opinion against the national health service so they can abolish it and bring in their Wall Street cronies with their private insurance schemes. Our immediate past prime minister served on the board of the Federal Reserve of New York if you can believe it.

NOTHING SURPRISES ME. SPEAKING OF FEDERAL RESERVE, THE FEDERAL RESERVED RAISED OUR INTERESTS RATES TO .25. WE ARE GOING TO EXPERIENCE MORE HELL THAN WE ALREADY HAVE, EARLY THIS MORNING I WAS GLAD TO GO TO KROGER GROCERY STORE AND FIND THAT THEY HAD A SALE ON A DOZEN OF EGGS JUST FOR 77 CENTS A CARTON. I GUESS TO, IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO GO TO A DOCTOR LIKE THIS PLACE HERE, WE ARE STILL ON A WAITING LINE FOREVER. THEY ARE TRYING TO MERGE US INTO ONE, IN A WAY NO ONE WANTS TO BE. WE SHALL START PRAYING FOR NEW ZEALAND AS WELL. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTIONS.

“Dead on arrival?” Yep! That about covers it! They want the poor, dead on arrival. No health insurance for you. Drop dead and hope the state will bury you!

YOU CAN NOT GET BURIED EITHER, BECAUSE I FOUND OUT FROM MY CREMATION, THERE IS A CHARGE FOR OPENING AND CLOSING THE GRAVE. SO I HAVE MY CREMATION PAID FOR, AND ONE OF MY RELATIVES SHALL BE IN CHARGED OF DISPENSING MY ASHES OVER THE NICEST PARK OR LAKE THAT THEY CHOOSE. IN MICHIGAN, THERE ARE STILL SOME FOLKS IN MORGUES, BECAUSE FAMILIES CAN NOT AFFORD THE FUNERAL EXPENSES.

That is just horrible! But I cannot say that I am surprised! So no poor person qualifies for even a pauper’s burial? Nope! I am not surprised at all.

PAUPER’S FUNERALS ARE EXTREMELY RARE, AND EVEN WHEN THE BODY IS IN THE GRAVE, IT IS GIVEN THE MOST MINIMAL ATTENTION. WATER TABLE TENDS TO REACH THE BODY AT SOME POINT.

Again, I am not surprised. Especially seeing as how a dead person’s debt is not even erased.

Shelby, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Republicans desire the poor and sick to fall down dead in the street. That way they don’t need to go to the trouble and expense of putting them in prison. Hitler used to call the sick and disabled “worthless eaters” and they were the first people he sent to the concentration camps. And of course he had the full support of both the German and Wall Street corporations in pursing this policy. It’s the heirs of the Wall Street moguls who financially backed Hitler who currently control Congress and the Republican Party.

And then we have the nerve to wonder why we are in deep shit and the shit is getting even deeper. There will be no savior and Trump is most definitely NOT the savior that many of his supporters think he is. He just said everything they wanted to hear at a time when they needed to hear it and he made them think that he felt their pain of not being heard and taken seriously. But in the end, he will be just like all the others.
