  1. The writing is all over the wall. When millions of Americans are spending half their incomes on housing, that does not leave money for extravagances. And the food shelf lines are getting even longer.

    I was just on the phone today pledging a July 4th holiday meal for forty families at a supportive housing facility. I was also asked if I would deliver meals to a different shelter that feed those who shelter there at night and give them bag lunches when they must leave for the day. I am preparing hearty sandwiches and fruits and drinks for 35 homeless souls at that facility. The need is great and the resources are few.

    Some people have no idea how bad it really is.

  2. Sounds like extremely important – and defiantly political – work you are engaged in Shelby. There’s no question the US is turning into a third world country. And I think you’re right. The privileged Americans who live a comfortable lifestyle are happy to turn a blind eye to all this.
