Texas town reduces crime by 61% and saves $200,000 a year by abolishing police department.
A Texas Town Fires Police Dept., Hires Private Citizens for Security, but Guess What Happened to Crime?

The community of Sharpstown, Texas decided that they didn’t need the police any longer. They made a controversial decision to fire the local police department and hire private citizens, granted no special rights that ordinary citizens do not have, to keep them safe.
That was back in 2012, and since then, Sharpstown residents say the private security company, SEAL Security Solutions, have done a much better job than the police used to. Crimes is down 61% in only 20 months.
James Alexander, the director of operations for SEAL Security Solutions says that,
“Since we’ve been in there, an independent crime study that they’ve had done [indicates] we’ve reduced the crime by 61 percent,” according to Guns.com.
All of that and they don’t have any special rights that you or I don’t have.

Yes, leave it to people and generally they will better manage their own affairs, including safety and crime.

I’ve always argued that in properly functioning neighborhoods, it works best to leave security to grandmothers. In instances where they know them personally, I’ve seen them face down and shame gang members.

Absolutely Brilliant! I love it!
The lying fraud is always exposed sooner or later, and the entire “justice” system is a criminal joke!
Self governance!

The police have never protected the interest of the people. Their main job has always been to protect the property interests of the ruling elite.

Correct! I found out in person, that “their” right to not be disturbed, exceeds my right to not be assaulted and robbed.

A question still remains. Since the security company is a corporate structure, it is merely a matter of time before someone figures out that money can purchase “influence”, something that public ownership of police departments was supposed to prevent, but didn’t. Still, any change from status quo is welcome.

Agreed. That’s why I prefer the idea of using grandmothers to provide security. They almost always do it for free.
