“Children today are sicker than they were a generation ago. From childhood cancers to autism, birth defects and asthma, a wide range of childhood diseases and disorders are on the rise. Our assessment of the latest science leaves little room for doubt; pesticides are one key driver of this sobering trend.”

Even worse federal regulatory agencies have been aware of these dangers for 20 years and have done nothing.

    • Reminds me of a comment by Dow chairman Carl Gerstacker in 1972 after some of their products were banned in the US when studies showed they caused cancer in humans and other species. “I have long dreamed of buying an island owned by no nation and of establishing the world headquarters of the Dow company on truly neutral ground of such an island, beholden to no nation or society.”

That island was New Zealand, and they came here to New Plymouth to produce the extremely toxic pesticide 2,4 D used in agent orange – poisoning thousands of families. Monsanto originally held the patent, but they sold it to Dow (despite studies they had done showing it caused cancer).

  1. This provides an excellent opportunity to use children as research subjects as part of scientific experiment. This may not be the objective but intentionally or not they do this a lot. What they don’t do is attempt to pass on the benefit of this research to the public, which would teach people not to trust their government or Monsanto and expose their experiments.
