Game Over Ukraine Announces Partial Halt to Payments on Its Gargantuan Debt

Kiev is notoriously dependent on foreign military and economic support and debt-based spending fueling the NATO proxy war with Russia, with its national debt nearly doubling under Volodymyr Zelensky to over $152 billion. A World Bank official warned this spring that Ukraine could declare bankruptcy in 2025 unless its sponsors bail it out.

Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers issued a resolution on Tuesday ordering a partial halt to the servicing of its obligations on Eurobonds, sovereign GDP warrants and other loan instruments, driving the country one step closer to formal financial ruin.

Starting September 3, Ukraine will stop servicing its roughly $700 million debt to Cargill Financial Services International, a Minneapolis-registered agribusiness giant. From November 9 on, Kiev will halt servicing state national power company Ukrenergo’s ‘green and sustainability-linked’ Eurobonds, issued in 2021 and worth about $830 million.

Payments on GDP warrants – a financial instrument linked to economic growth, will be stopped May 31, 2025. Ukraine owes some $2.6 billion on this instrument, according to US banking giant JPMorgan.

The above debt reportedly fell outside a large-scale debt restructuring agreement announced earlier this month and designed to allow Kiev to stave off defaulting on its obligations.

The government decree instructs the State Treasury to temporarily suspend operations with GDP warrant-related funds, with Kiev last making an 2.89 billion hryvnia ($70.52 million US) payment, corresponding to the deferred payment of earnings and interest accrued from 2021, on July 31. On August 1, the treasury paid a 5.33 billion hryvnia ($130 million) fee for a separate debt restructuring deal reached in 2022. In 2023, Kiev agreed to defer GDP warrant payments to August 1, 2024 with 7.75% interest.

Kiev announced on July 22 that it had reached agreements in principle on the restructuring of some $23 billion in Eurobond debt with a committee of debt holders, with the deal reportedly involving the write-off of up to 37% of the debt, minus 12% if a high level of GDP growth can be restored by 2028.

The remaining debt is set to be reissued as new Eurobonds maturing in between 2029 and 2036, with interest increasing from 1.75% to 7.75% over time. Investors ready to participate in the Eurobond exchange have been offered a 1.25% bonus, with agreements requiring consent of 2/3 of debt holders. The deadline for deal was August 27, 5 pm New York time.

Settlements are expected to be paid out by August 30.

Big Three credit agency S&P Global Ratings downgraded Ukraine’s credit rating earlier this month from CC/C (‘vulnerable/highly vulnerable’) to SD/SD (‘selective default’) after Kiev missed a payment on its Eurobonds. “We do not expect the payment within the bond’s contractual grace period of 10 business days,” S&P said, pointing to Kiev’s July measure “that authorizes the government to suspend payments” on some debt.

A month earlier, Fitch Ratings downgraded Ukraine’s rating from “CC” (‘default imminent with little prospect of recovery’) to “C” – one notch above default.

An anonymous World Bank official told Russian media in March that Ukraine could formally declare bankruptcy in 2025 if Western creditors don’t write off its debts, including obligations to private entities and banks. Ukraine’s budget deficit is expected to hit a record $43.9 billion in 2024, notwithstanding the fact that the country has received upwards of $200 billion in military, economic, and humanitarian aid from Western countries since early 2022.

Russia’s Revenge will be served very cold

On the 20th day of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ invasion of the Kursk region, our Western enemies seem to have begun to understand what sort of adventure their mercenaries have gotten themselves into. A major victory and a counteroffensive with the goal of forcing Russia to sit down at the negotiating table have turned into a tourniquet around the neck of Führer Zelensky. Even the dimmest bulbs of the Western mainstream (for example, the French) have realized that there is no point in further praising the Ukrainians for the Kursk counteroffensive without seriously discussing the catastrophe that is simultaneously unfolding at Pokrovsk and Toretsk. During the 20 days of the Kursk counteroffensive, Russian troops breached two of the most heavily fortified areas of the Ukrainian front, which the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly declared impregnable. These are the Pokrovsk-Selidovo and Toretsk-New York lines.

Just to give you an idea of it, the depth of the Ukrainian defense near Toretsk is 35 kilometers and includes everything that modern military engineering science has come up with: minefields, multiple layers of barbed wire, concrete bunkers, numerous mineshafts turned into fortresses, water barriers and blocks of multi-story apartment buildings in dozens of settlements. This is a very densely populated area even by European standards. And in these endless fortifications, in this particular direction alone, there were more than 25 thousand highly motivated, Russia-hating Ukies.<

An even more difficult obstacle presented itself near Pokrovsk, with three lines of defense, five satellite cities acting as ready-made fortresses, and a network of artificial reservoirs. In total, there was something like a thousand kilometers of continuous trenches, constructed according to all the rules of modern military art by the engineers of a special NATO contractor unit sent there by the Europeans last year, once it became clear that Avdeyevka would fall sooner or later. And in this nightmarish mess of a million tons of concrete and steel on a small patch less than 40 kilometers wide, was ensconced the best group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, numbering almost 100 thousand people in units mostly made up of veterans.

These Ukrainian veterans regularly pushed their own untrained and frightened freshly drafted Ukrainian soldiers to the front line under Russian bullets and shells, because that’s what the Ukrainians and the Ukraine are like: this was for them just another line of defense — throwing the corpses of their own youth under the tracks of advancing tanks. However, despite all this, the Russian army, like a hot knife through butter, is passing through all these fortifications.

The West, while applauding Zelensky, fail to appreciate the cold, resolute fury which the “Kursk adventure” has generated in the hearts of Russian soldiers. This attack has too many associations and historical parallels. And Russia’s reaction to it will be terrible! If Zelensky was pushed into this operation by the West, then the people who pushed him must understand that this act will remain in the memory of the Russian people forever, like the attacks by Hitler, Napoleon or Khan Batu. The Kursk adventure will always serve to remind the Russian people that the West is dangerous, merciless and fights like a rat when cornered.

There is no escaping the comparisons. If near Toretsk and Pokrovsk professional, well-armed Ukrainian Armed Forces confront the Russian army, then near Kursk the freshest, best-trained, well-armed Ukrainian units numbering at least 15-20 thousand people attacked peaceful cities and towns. Russian border defenses in this place amount to just one line of trenches and anti-tank fortifications called dragon’s teeth. The section of the border in the Kursk region which the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked was about 60 kilometers wide.

Due to the gigantic size of the country, Russia simply does not have the resources to constantly guard its entire border, permanently keeping thousands of soldiers in the trenches. The Russian army guards the border with Ukraine using the so-called defensive screen, in which a small number of military units are stationed a few kilometers back from the border. Their task, in the event of an attack, is to advance towards the enemy and hold it back for as long as possible, or until the main forces arrive.

The section of the border that was attacked was guarded by just three Russian regiments of the second line, a total of about three thousand people. These are reserve regiments, formed mainly from reservists called up in the summer of 2022 and older contract soldiers. Such units serve mainly in areas of secondary importance. To this we can add four border outposts, at which were stationed a total of three hundred conscripts — young lads of 18 who had never so much as smelled gunpowder.

Apparently, it simply could not have occurred to the Russian command and leadership that Zelensky would decide on such an insane course of action — contrary to common sense, laws of war and military science. This shows that the Russian authorities, until the last moment, treated the Zelensky régime as at least somewhat reasonable and subject to human laws, despite all the obvious contradictions. This was another bitter mistake.

The previous such mistake was the Prigozhin mutiny, which happened exactly a year ago. And here we must observe the reaction of the Russian state. The leadership of the rebellious private army was variously destroyed or dispersed and Wagner PMC was erased from the official annals of Russian history. Russia is a great military power with a proud and victorious history and it is difficult to imagine a greater disgrace for a Russian fighting unit than nationwide ostracism and oblivion. We can only guess what Russia will do to the organizers of the attack on its sovereign territory at Kursk.

The Ukrainians were betting it all on an element of surprise. They believed that their fresh forces, which were many times superior to the Russian defenders and armed with the best NATO weapons, would easily break through the defense of three reserve regiments, made up of volunteers in their fifties and called-up reservists armed only with small arms. But from the very first hours they faced severe disappointment.

The first to come under attack from the Ukrainian forces were the border outposts with those very conscripts — eighteen-year-old boys. These two outposts held them back and only after several hours of resistance were the Russian commanders forced to surrender to the superior enemy forces. Russians value the lives of their conscripts. It is believed that a boy becomes a man only after serving in the army. Compare this to the Ukrainian army, where, on the contrary, its most inexperienced get pushed under Russian tanks.

In order to save the lives of these future men, Russian commanders made the decision to surrender. The Ukrainians then shot all the officers who surrendered, along with the conscripts at the first two outposts. At two other outposts, which were attacked a little later, the officers died in the first hours of the battle, and the conscripts, left without orders, made an independent decision to stage a fighting retreat, protecting groups of civilians fleeing from the invasion of the Ukrainian horde along the way.

This is another important point that is not understood in the West. The Ukrainians, like the Nazi invaders in distant 1941, attacked sleeping, peaceful towns and villages of Kursk without any warning. In the zone of the Special Military Operation, the Russians warn civilians in advance, giving them the opportunity to evacuate and at least to gather their documents and valuables. In Kursk, in each populated area the Ukrainians captured without resistance, they set fire to houses in which women and children were sleeping, creating an atmosphere of panic. This was part of the Ukrainian strategy: to make the civilian population suffer as much as possible in order to force Putin to negotiate with Zelensky.

This was a well-thought-out, cynical tactic of a terrorist. When almost twenty thousand terrorists simultaneously attack peaceful cities and villages, thousands of frightened women, children, and old people flee in all directions. Under such conditions, the main task for the small Russian units was not even to resist the Ukrainian military, but to save the old people, the women and the children. The refugees flocked to the military, who literally protected them from the Ukrainian Nazis with their own bodies. Today, when the information blockade imposed by the West and by the Ukraine around the captured territories is falling, more and more irrefutable evidence is emerging that the Ukrainian military deliberately hunted civilians with drones, trying to kill groups of refugees trying to leave.

One of the centers to which people flocked from the captured surrounding villages was the town of Malaya Loknya. The only fortified complex in it was the women’s prison, and it was there that the soldiers of the 9th Motorized Rifle Regiment decided to hold out to the last. They were several dozen reservists and volunteers in their fifties. The prison became a transit point for many refugees. While some soldiers of the 9th Regiment, together with the conscript border guards who had joined them, were leading the refugees out, others were fighting in the surrounding villages and forests to give civilians time to evacuate, leading them to the outskirts of Malaya Loknya and evacuating them to the rear by roundabout routes through forests and swamps.

Despite all this, no one cancelled the main combat mission of the 9th Regiment. A direct road to the city of Kurchatov, where the Kursk Nuclear Power Station is located, runs directly through Malaya Loknya. It was precisely this that the Ukrainian forces were rushing towards: it was the seizure of the nuclear power plant, according to the plan of the insane Führer Zelensky, that was supposed to force Putin’s hand to soften his position and to negotiate. An attempt at direct nuclear blackmail is unprecedented in known history. And a seemingly completely incapable regiment of old men and reservists stood in the way of these plans of the crazy Ukrainian tyrant.

This one episode expresses the essence of Russia as a historical phenomenon. On one side were specially chosen mercenaries from all over the world, the best elite units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the best weapons, complete superiority in firepower; on the other, middle-aged local men who simply stood their ground and did not let this horde through. The 9th regiment, though badly short of men, calmly and without fuss held this route for as long as it took — until the main forces arrived. Only now, three weeks later, the soldiers of the 9th regiment started to be withdrawn from their positions.

The West fatally misunderstands Russia. Western press was missing at a field, shimmering with midday heat, somewhere near the town of Kurchatov near Kursk, where the surviving soldiers of the 9th regiment set up a bivouac in a nearby patch of woods. There were no marching bands and no flowers; all that happened was that a Russian general drove straight across the field, presented the people who saved the whole world from nuclear blackmail with military awards, and drove off. And then the soldiers continued to settle in their new bivouac. The only cause for joy for them was access to a banya (called “sauna” in Finnish). Even the standard ration of 100ml of vodka is not allowed because they are still on duty. Perhaps tomorrow, or in a week, or maybe in two weeks, they will march into battle again. Such is the Russian army. Such are the Russian people.

The West should not be deceived by Vladimir Putin’s apparent calmness. You should take note of the fact that near Kursk a reserve regiment of the second line held out against the elite forces of the Ukraine and the West. Imagine what the most combat-ready units of the Russian army, which are currently busy ripping through NATO-constructed defenses at Pokrovsk and Toretsk, will do to you.

In this lecture, Benjamin describes the early life of Timur (Tamerlane) in Transoxiana (near Samarkhan) and his efforts to build his own empire as central power disintegrated in the Chagatai Khanate, Ilkhanate and Golden Horde khanates.

Born in the 1320s Mogulistan,* Timor’s father was a chieftain in  Balas Muslim Turkic tribe. At that time Persians and Turks controlled Transoxiana citie, which were heavily involved in the Silk Road trade, while Mongols controlled the countryside.

Timur became lame as a teenager, after being shot with an arrow while raiding commercial caravans. A military genius and chess player,** Timur spoke Persian, Mongol and several Turkic dialects.

Triumphing militarily over a number of opponents, Timur eventually became khan of Moghulistan after the Chaggatai Khanate split into two independent states (Mogulistan and Transoxiana) around 1336.

1375 – Timur helps Tokhtamysy assume supreme power in the White Horde (the western Golden Horde) and conquer the Blue Horde (the eastern Golden Horde), briefly reuniting them.

1379-80 – Timur sacks the Khorasan region of Persia (formerly the Ilkhanate), capturing artists and intellectuals to send back to Mogulistan and slaughtering all remaining civilians.

1381 – Timur installs his third son Miran Shah as ruler of Khorasan and begins conquering other Persian cities and appointing puppet princes to rule them.

1384-1395 – Golden Horde ruler Toktamish allies with the Egyptian Mamaluks to resist Timur’s claims on Azerbaijan. After allying himself with Timur’s old tribal enemies, he attacks Transoxiana and decimates a number of Khorasan cities. the long war plays a key role in the decline of Mongol power over the Russian principalities. Meanwhile Timur’s renews military incursions campaign into Persia

1395 – During Battle of Terek River, Tokhtamsh’s allies defect to Timur, who destroys the Golden Horde city by city, with Moscow surviving by a religious miracle. Dethroned, Tokhtamish flees to Lithuania where he forms an alliance with the grand duke.

1399 His army crushed, Tokhtamish flees to Siberia, where one of Timur’s allies kills him.

*Moghulistan, also called the Moghul Khanate or the Eastern Chagatai Khanate, was a Mongol breakaway khanate of the Chagatai Khanate.

WHO-UNICEF Vaccination Campaign in Gaza: Polio Eradication or Transition to Bio-Warfare?

This is seriously creepy.

Over a million doses of polio vaccine have been shipped to Israel in preparation for a mass vaccination campaign in Gaza. The vaccines are an emergency response to the first confirmed case of polio reported in Gaza last month. According to an article in the New York Times:

UNICEF, the U.N. children’s fund, said it was delivering the vaccines in cooperation with the World Health Organization… UNRWA; and other groups. UNRWA officials said they hoped to deliver the first vaccines to Gazan children starting on Saturday….

The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed that the vaccines had reached Gaza and that preparations to begin the campaign to inoculate children under 10 were underway…. the U.N. said on Monday that its already hamstrung humanitarian operations had been brought to a temporary halt after the Israeli military ordered the evacuation of Deir al-Balah, where the agency has its central operations.

But a senior U.N. official… said… that there was no change to plans to begin polio vaccinations, despite the fact that the temporary pause in the U.N.’s humanitarian mission. Polio Vaccines Arrive in Gaza, but Distributing Them Is the Next Challenge, New York Times

So, the UN is unable to distribute humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, but they are charging ahead with a mass vaccination campaign?

Doesn’t that sound a bit strange? Keep in mind, the Israelis have been preventing food, water and medicine from entering Gaza for months which has led to mass starvation and a sharp uptick in preventable diseases. But now we are expected to believe that they care about the physical well-being of the people they have been bombing to smithereens for the last 10 months?

I’m not buying it. Here’s more from the Times:

Speaking from Zawaida, in central Gaza, Mr. Rose, of UNRWA, said that more than 3,000 people would be involved in the vaccination campaign, about a third of them from UNRWA. Mobile health teams would help deliver the vaccines to shelters, clinics and schools, but he said a humanitarian pause was needed for parents and children to safely meet aid workers at those sites.

Aid workers “will do our absolute utmost to deliver the campaign because, without it, we know that the conditions will just be worse someday,” Mr. Rose said. “It is not guaranteed that it will be a success.”

For children who contract polio, he added, the prospects of receiving proper treatment remain “incredibly bad” while many of Gaza’s hospitals and health clinics are closed or only partly functioning as a result of the conflict. New York Times

It just gets weirder and weirder.

So—according to the Times—aid workers will require a “humanitarian pause” (aka—A ceasefire) the likes of which Netanyahu has stubbornly refused for 10 months straight. But now—after just one confirmed case of polio—he’s expected to reverse the policy in order to save the same the people he’s been pulverizing for the last year? Isn’t that what the Times is saying?

And how do we explain Mr. Rose’s sudden concern for young Palestinians when he was nowhere to be found when these same children were having their arms and legs amputated without anesthesia, medication or even proper sanitation. It’s a real mystery. Here’s more:

The W.H.O. chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said in a statement on Thursday that a 10-month-old child in Gaza had contracted polio and had become paralyzed in one leg.(NYTimes)

Hasn’t Tedros noticed the mountain of carnage piled up across the entire 25-mile Gaza hellscape or has he been in a vaccine-induced coma for the last year?

Everything about this mass vaccination campaign stinks to high heaven. The last thing Israel wants is more healthy Palestinians. We know that for a fact. Here’s more:

UNICEF and the W.H.O. have called on “all parties” in the conflict to put in place a weeklong humanitarian pause in Gaza to allow both rounds of vaccines to be delivered, saying that “without the humanitarian pauses, the delivery of the campaign will not be possible.”

COGAT, the Israeli defense ministry’s agency that oversees policy for the Palestinian territories, said in a statement on Monday that the vaccines had been delivered to Gaza through the Kerem Shalom border crossing with Israel. The agency added that the campaign would be conducted in coordination with the Israeli military “as part of the routine humanitarian pauses” that it observes, which, it said, would allow Palestinians to reach vaccination centers. Did you catch that last part? The campaign is going to be “conducted in coordination” with that great humanitarian organization, the Israeli Defense Forces. How does that square with the fact that Israel regards Palestinian children as Amalek? Are they planning to save them from polio so they can gun them down on the streets of Gaza sometime in the future? How does that work exactly?

And why in heaven’s name would Netanyahu agree to “a weeklong humanitarian pause in Gaza” when he brazenly rejected the Biden-backed ceasefire, the UN Security Council-supported ceasefire, and the relentless appeal for a ceasefire from the vast majority of countries around the world? How did the WHO persuade him to change his mind when all the others failed?

But rest assured, Netanyahu would never agree to a humanitarian pause unless it helped to advance his own political agenda, which is the total expulsion of the native population. That’s the only reason Bibi would change his policy. Which is why we suspect that there is more here than meets the eye.

Would it surprise you to know that vaccines have been used in Africa, Nicaragua, Mexico and the Philippines as anti-fertility drugs? Would it shock you to know that western elites have used vaccine campaigns to target people who didn’t realize that they were being used as lab rats in a nefarious eugenics experiment? It’s worth noting that the World Health Organization is not a benign public health agency selflessly seeking to eradicate disease and sickness wherever they may be found.

Quite the contrary. It is a flock of power-mad internationalists who seek to push through a “global pandemic treaty…. that would grant it absolute power over global biosecurity, such as the power to implement digital identities/vaccine passports, mandatory vaccinations, travel restrictions, standardized medical care and more. (Children’s Health Defense ) In short, the WHO is a tyrannical global government accountable to no one. Sound familiar?

And if the WHO is teaming up with Netanyahu to vaccinate hundreds of thousands of Palestinian children in Gaza, we can be reasonably certain that they’re up to no-good. In fact, we can be sure of it.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has vowed to fire the entire National Institute of Health ‭(NIH) team, launch and investigation into former director Dr. Anthony Fauci, as matter of urgency if he is appointed Secretary of Health under President Trump.

Kennedy Jr. explains that his priority as Health Secretary would be holding Big Pharma to account for historical and ongoing crimes and turning the NIH, CDC and FDA back into “healing and public health agencies.”

Kennedy Jr also criticized Dr. Anthony Fauci for Covid’s death toll and the disastrous vaccine roll out, declaring that Fauci should be prosecuted if he committed a crime.

Kennedy Jr. suspended his independent presidential campaign on Friday, immediately throwing his support behind President Donald Trump.

In a brief speech at the Arizona rally, Kennedy said Trump would “make America healthy again” and that he would be a president “who is going to protect us against totalitarianism.”

At the rally, Trump praised Kennedy’s track record as an environmental lawyer and public health advocate and said that he would create a government panel of experts to work with Kennedy to investigate children’s health problems and vaccine safety in the US.

According to Kennedy Jr, he will stop the NIH from studying infectious disease, and pivot it to studying chronic disease, like diabetes, obesity, and cancer.

“I’m going to say to NIH scientists, God bless you all,” Kennedy said. “Thank you for public service. We’re going to give infectious disease a break for about eight years.” 

Kennedy explains that environmental toxins, a category in which he includes most childhood vaccines, to be the major threat to public health, rather than infectious disease.

In an interview with NBC last year, Kennedy Jr slammed the FDA, the NIH and the CDC and said he would “unravel the corrupt corporate capture of these agencies that turned them predatory, against the American public.”

He declared that if elected to public office he will boot the officials in charge and appoint people who would “turn them back into healing and public health agencies.”

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) oversees 13 agencies, including the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health.

If appointed to the Secretary of Health role, Kennedy Jr. would be handed an incredible opportunity to follow through on his promises to reshape the public health sphere in the US and hold Big Pharma to account for its historical and ongoing crimes.

Alex Azar described the cabinet role as having “a shocking amount of power by the stroke of a pen,” at the head of a department with a more than $1.5 trillion budget.

China keeps door firmly closed to Japanese seafood imports

China is keeping its door tightly shut to Japanese fishery products after imposing an import ban a year ago in protest against the discharge of treated water into the sea from a crippled nuclear power plant in Japan.

Despite Tokyo’s repeated assurances that the procedure is safe, Chinese officials still refer to the treated water, which contains small amounts of radioactive tritium, as “nuclear-contaminated water.”

Tokyo and Beijing are in talks over the issue but there are no clues yet as to how the situation could be resolved.

In a meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa late last month, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated Beijing’s demand that an international system to monitor the water release be established.

China imposed the blanket ban on fishery products from Japan on Aug. 24 last year immediately after the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant started releasing treated water.

Chinese trade statistics show that no fishery products, except aquarium fish, have been imported from Japan since September last year.

Restaurants in China have been forced to procure ingredients from other countries.

A Japanese restaurant in Beijing switched from Japanese tuna to Spanish tuna after the import ban. Because it now has new procurement sources, the restaurant is not sure whether it will use Japanese tuna again even if the ban is lifted.

The water release has also triggered a boycott of Japanese products in China, sending sales of Japanese food and cosmetic products tumbling.

A senior official at a Japanese food company in Beijing said there were periods when clients did not display its products on store shelves.

There have also been cases in which customs officials have rejected sweets and drinks imported from Japan or demanded additional procedures for imports from Japan.

The Japanese food company’s sales in China have yet to return to normal levels. “The situation remains tough,” the food company official said.

The impact of the import ban has spread further than Beijing had anticipated.

A woman in her 40s in Beijing said she has not eaten marine products for a long while.

Chinese fishery products have suffered reputational damage. Fishermen have complained online about the negative impact, such as sharp falls in income.

Shoppers were few in number at a seafood market in Zhoushan in the eastern province of Zhejiang, home to China’s largest fishing port.

The number of domestic tourists visiting the city in the first three months of this year rose 8.8% from a year before, far below the national average.

Beijing has said seafood sold in China is safe because strict radiation inspections are conducted in China.

But a dealer in fishery products in Zhoushan said that the ocean is connected. It is illogical that Japanese products are dangerous and Chinese products are safe, the dealer said.

In China, experts’ views that the treated water would reach the Chinese coast as early as this spring spread in state media and on social media.

A male resident of Zhoushan questioned the government’s strict response to the treated water release. Someone has made too much of a fuss in China, he said.

The fishing season started at the Zhoushan fishing port this month but fewer boats are leaving the port than last year.

A fisherman said some of his colleagues are already out of work. Everyone is having a hard time, but there is no specific support from the government, the fisherman said.

Governor Greg Abbott announced today that the state has successfully removed over one million ineligible voters from its voter rolls since the enactment of Senate Bill 1 in 2021.

This decisive action includes nearly 500,000 deceased individuals and thousands of noncitizens.

“Election integrity is essential to our democracy,” said Governor Abbott.

“I have signed the strongest election laws in the nation to protect the right to vote and to crackdown on illegal voting. These reforms have led to the removal of over one million ineligible people from our voter rolls in the last three years, including noncitizens, deceased voters, and people who moved to another state.

“The Secretary of State and county voter registrars have an ongoing legal requirement to review the voter rolls, remove ineligible voters, and refer any potential illegal voting to the Attorney General’s Office and local authorities for investigation and prosecution. Illegal voting in Texas will never be tolerated. We will continue to actively safeguard Texans’ sacred right to vote while also aggressively protecting our elections from illegal voting.”

DNC Sues Georgia Over New Ballot Tampering Measure

In a country where common sense should reign supreme, one would expect a unified front in favor of protecting the sanctity of our elections. Yet, the Democrats continue to stand against measures designed to ensure that our electoral process is both fair and secure.

The latest instance of this troubling trend comes from Georgia, where the state’s Election Board has taken a bold step toward safeguarding election integrity—only to be met with fierce opposition from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Democratic Party of Georgia.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the Georgia Election Board voted 3-2 in favor of a new rule that mandates election workers to compare the total number of ballots cast with the total number of unique voter ID numbers in the system.

This crucial regulation aims to ensure that every vote cast is legitimate, allowing for thorough investigations into any discrepancies before election results can be certified.

Under this new rule, if any precinct shows that the number of ballots exceeds the number of unique voter IDs, counties must withhold certification of those election results until a complete investigation into potential fraud is conducted.

Telegram founder Durov’s arrest represents new level of desperation from western elites

There is no such thing really as free speech. It comes at a very high price for those who want to protect and cherish it.

The arrest of Pavel Durov marks a new low point on the scumline of the side of the bath – the tub being western democracies and the line being their desperation to stay in power at the costs of controlling social media. Durov, who owns Telegram and lives in Dubai, could be in jail for months and possibly years on the trumped-up charges which the French state has conjured up simply because he refuses to allow any government to have a back door into Telegram. He has fought this tooth and nail for years with the west, in particular the U.S., playing every dirty trick in the book to get access to the platform for its own nefarious purposes – to destroy opposition figures, their strategies etc. – rather than what it is dressed up to be, identifying terrorists and international criminals.

As the UK ponders how its own state has sunk to a new totalitarian level in recent days with the arrest of its citizens who merely like a posting on a social media platform, the West has arrested this French Russian dual national genius who is charged with the crimes of those criminals active on Telegram. And so charges of terrorism and trafficking in minors, drugs and whatever else they can find on the platform will be made against him as someone abetting in the crimes. Of course, the same rules will not be levelled against Elon Musk who surely has criminals on his platform or for that matter any of the other social media platforms.

But how many of these platforms are also taking the same stand as Durov? We are led to believe that most of them aren’t but in light of his arrest we should assume that many of them have already allowed some sort of access to them for the deep state. Elon Musk likes to brag about his refusal to comply with the EU’s demands that he “moderates” who he allows onto X, adding that other social media platforms accepted the deal offered to him by Brussels: comply with our requests and we grant you some leniency on future antitrust fines. This offer, which he claims was happily accepted by other platforms is a close as you can get to the EU offering a brown envelope stuffed full of cash to a man in a pub. It’s a bribe and gives a clue as to how anti-democratic the EU is and how it operates in the shadows.

The French arrest however goes deeper in that we can assume that it was not France operating alone to nab Durov. We can assume that the FBI and CIA had probably pushed Macron to do this appalling dirty work but perhaps also Israel had a hand in it. Just recently, Netanyahu complained that data which was stolen from the government was being exchanged on Telegram and asked Durov to step in and retrieve it. He got not reply. Did Mossad have a hand in the arrest of Telegram’s boss? It seems credible given that it is hard to believe the Durov would fly into French airspace eyes wide open. Was it a kidnapping operation to get his plane and his pilot to land in Paris? French TV channel TF1 said Dubai-based Durov had been travelling from Azerbaijan and was arrested at around 8 p.m. (1800 GMT) on Saturday 24th of August but did not state whether the plane’s ultimate destination had been France.

The details around the arrest are very sketchy, but according to Reuters, Durov, whose fortune was estimated by Forbes at $15.5 billion, said some governments had sought to pressure him but the app should remain a “neutral platform” and not a “player in geopolitics”.

Another question which arises from the arrest is whether it is an international effort by western countries led by the U.S. – with Israel very much part of it – to test the waters for other arrests. Pundits have been dismissed as conspiracy theorists for weeks now suggesting Elon Musk will be arrested at some point, or charged in his absence, by UK authorities for some of the more controversial posts he has made about the political situation in the UK, or even by the EU which appears to have started a legal battle with him after he refused to respond to two letters sent to him by a French European Commissioner. Perhaps even the Democrats in the U.S. might play the same card given that Musk has lost all credibility as this neutral player in U.S. politics after he has so openly supported Trump who has promised him a position in a new government if he were to enter the Oval Office. There is no such thing really as free speech. It comes at a very high price for those who want to protect and cherish it and now France will test the political landscape to see how the arrest of Durov will affect Macron’s ratings. The French president has made outstandingly poor judgment in the past in calling for parliamentary elections immediately after EU ones which gave so much power to far-right groups, so he seems to be good at falling on his own sword. He may well have factored that Durov does not have the popularity of say Assange who didn’t stir so much political anger when he was banged up for years in a filthy, dank cell in the UK on trumped up charges from the U.S.

What is especially worrying is that locking up powerful people who have huge followings on the internet is becoming a trend which people are getting used to. The war between those who want to control the perceived truth and those who hold the actual one is hotting up. Scott Ritter, Andrew Tate, Richard Medhurst all arrested within days of one another, while Musk himself shuts down Egyptian comedian Bassem Youseff who had 10m followers on X. What we are witnessing is a new level of desperation that western elites are more afraid than ever that after wasting hundreds of billions of dollars in Ukraine and starting a world war in the Middle East that voters have no confidence any more in their decision-making, as they, the public, struggle more and more to pay for groceries or even heat their houses. It’s a new milestone in the blind dogma of elites to resort to tactics which we would have scorned China or North Korea for using just a few years ago. It’s a new level of panic which we haven’t seen before.
