Healing with DMSO: The Complete Guide to Safe and Natural Treatment for Managing Pain, Inflammation and other chronic Ailment with Dimethyl Sulfoxide

Book Review

DSMO is a naturally occurring substance (produced by soil bacteria and microscopic plankton) and plentiful byproduct of paper industry. It’s been used for injuries in Sport Medicine since the early 1960s. In many cases, it allows athletes with severe strains and sprains to return to the game. It was first discovered in 1866 by Russian doctor named Alexander M Sayzeff.

In the early sixties Dr Stanley Jacob at the Oregon Health and Science University Medical School discovered that highly purified DMSO could penetrate skin and organ membranes without harming them. The FDA has approved it for horses as a topical medication and for humans (via infusion into the bladder) for interstitial cystitis.

Most individuals with allergies to sulfa drugs, sulfites or food high in sulfur content experience no problems taking DMSO, as it contains no complex (sulfur-containing) protein for the body to react to.

There is only one DMSO-related death on record, an Irish woman who had an anaphylactic reaction after combining DMSO with antibiotics and anti-anxiety medication but continued taking it despite her negative reaction.

DMSO actions in humans, animals and plants (as confirmed by hundreds of thousands of studies):

Nervous system

• Down’s Syndrome (by reducing accumulation of misfolded proteins)*

• Pain (particularly when combined with peppermint)
• Dementia (particularly when combined with ginko balboa)

All of the treatments Vollmer recommend are topical, except for head trauma and ionizing radiation exposure. For head trauma she recommends drinking 1 tsp 99.9% DMSO in 5 ounces of distilled water or juice for 3-5 days after the injury combined with topical application of an 80% solution to the injury site.

For a head CAT scan or mammogram she recommends starting DMSO before the procedure (1 tsp 99.9% DMSO) in 5 ounces of water and continuing for seven days street. For a full body CAT scan or for self-protection for radiation technicians, nuclear power plant workers and flight crews she recommends drinking 1 oz 99.995% DMSO in 1 oz distilled water or juice twice a day and covering the body with 80% DMSO as soon as possible.

DMSO must never be combined with alcohol or prescribed medication (without consulting a doctor) or applied to dirty or tattooed or perfumed skin or to an eye containing a lens implant.

Other sources recommend an 80% topical solution applied to the skin and 6.25 – 40% solution as eye drops. For internal use they recommend 2-25 drops a day dissolved in distilled water or juice.
