Netanyahu never cared about the hostages, his critics say

MEARSHEIMER: ISRAEL WILL SACRIFICE HOSTAGES FOR A GREATER ISRAEL

Bezalel Smotrich, the Israeli finance minister and top “settler,” said at a conference that Gaza “is becoming a real estate bonanza” and there are already discussions in place with the U.S. about “how to divide the percentages of the land in Gaza.”

“The demolition phase is always the first phase of urban renewal,” he said, according to Haaretz. “We did that, now we need to start building.”

He said, “This plan was built by the most professional people there are. We are checking how this becomes a real estate bonanza—I’m not joking—and pays for itself.”

Breaking the Silence, the Israeli veterans’ organization, posted in response:

The truth is out: Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Gaza is a real estate pearl, and that talks are underway with the U.S. on how to divide the land. This is why the assault on Gaza continues. Not Hamas, not hostages, not security – only messianic agendas and real estate.

The goals in Gaza have been clear, ever since Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and member of the Friends of Israel Defense Forces national board, said in 2024: “Gaza’s waterfront property could be very valuable … if people would focus on building up livelihoods.”

“It’s a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but from Israel’s perspective I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,” he said.

“Forget the partial deals. Go in with full force. Finish it,” Netanyahu said, quoting Trump, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The Israeli military has been carrying out a new offensive in Gaza City and told hundreds of thousands of civilians there—many of whom have been displaced—to move south once again, which the UN called “incomprehensible.”

The Trump administration is comprised of only pro-Israel extremists, but his team represents a generation that is aging out of politics. Trump spoke to the Daily Caller and was asked about eroding support for Israel — even among Republicans in the U.S.
