Dr Paul Craig Roberts
Trump gives in to the military/security complex, renews weapons to Ukraine and extends sanctions on Russia for a year.
On April 10, Trump declared a continuation of the national emergency with Russia and renewed President Biden’s April 2021 executive order declaring Russia to be an “unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and the economy of the United States.”
By renewing Biden’s executive order, Trump even buys into the Russiagate charges against himself:
Among the “harmful” activities ascribed to Russia in the document are “efforts to undermine the conduct of free and fair democratic elections and democratic institutions in the United States and its allies and partners.”
Russia is also blamed for a Washington specialty: “undermining security of countries and violating principles of international law.”
Trump has already cluttered the peace negotiations with his demand for Ukrainian rare earth minerals. Now he has introduced another extraneous issue – his demand for control of the pipeline through which Russian natural gas is delivered to Europe. Yes, Putin is still supplying Russia’s active enemies with energy. What sense does it make to help your enemies make war against you?

Seeing the headline at Global Research and author had me first thinking Paul Craig Roberts finally saw through the ultimate con man and now opposes Trump, after pumping Trump up for quite a while. Not quite … Roberts criticizes Russia more than Trump, while it would come as a huge surprise to hear Trump take the same or similar stances as Roberts on the variety of issues Roberts has polemically written about.

Who are you calling the ultimate con man? I thought Trump was it, or Zelensky. The board is full of con men.

Katherine, I think you have to be a con man to become a billionaire, and last I heard there were 14 billionaires in Trump’s cabinet.

You can be a con man without being a billionaire. Con people are a dime a dozen.

Dr. B, I just read that RFK, Jr. Is discouraging fluoridation of public drinking water, starting with Utah. I’m sure you and Naomi Wolfe contributed to this move, and thank you. The pediatric dentists and doctors are fighting the move, of course. I’ve also been looking into Rachel Carson’s life and advocacy for the environment with her book “Silent Spring”, about DDT and other pesticides.

Thank you for the very kind comment, Katherine, but the credit here belongs to Naomi Wolfe and RFK Jr, who have far bigger public reach and influence than I do.

It seems like a team effort, and you have worked as a good team member. You have spread the philosophies of earth-friendliness by supporting RFK, Jr., and those South of the equator places we Top-Heavy land masses try to ignore. Deep digging, for instance.

I think Trump made a very grave error in continuing Russian sanctions, Jerry. Owing to its immense resources re-establishing trade with Russia could have saved the US economy. I no longer believe there is any hope of saving it.

Trump cannot be trusted. That should be a well known fact. I hope the calls for his impeachment grow louder and that he is not only impeached, but imprisoned, along with his arrogant VP, who is busy calling the Chinese, peasants, while they’re holding billions in US Treasury bonds.

Shelby, I think the powers-that-be are trying to figure out a way to get rid of Vance first, like they did with Nixon and Spirow Agnew. I think Vance is worse than Trump. I would hate for him to be president.
