Radiofrequency radiation injures trees around mobile phone base stations

Highlights

High frequency nonionizing radiation is becoming increasingly common.

This study found a high level of damage to trees in the vicinity of phone masts.

Deployment has been continued without consideration of environmental impact.

Abstract

In the last two decades, the deployment of phone masts around the world has taken place and, for many years, there has been a discussion in the scientific community about the possible environmental impact from mobile phone base stations.
