Breaking Up the Democratic Party – by Michael Hudson • 12 Sept 2019

“I hope that the candidate who is clearly the voters’ choice, Bernie Sanders, may end up as the party’s nominee. If he is, I’m sure he’ll beat Donald Trump handily, as he would have done four years ago. But I fear that the DNC’s Donor Class [who control the superdelegate votes at the convention] will push Joe Biden, Kamala Harris or even Pete Buttigieg [who will all lose to Trump] down the throats of voters. Just as when they backed Hillary the last time around, they hope that their anointed neoliberal will be viewed as the lesser evil for a program little different from that of the Republicans.”

  1. Too true, Gloria. He’s also one of the few economists I know of to be upfront about where our money really comes from. Only 2% of it is notes and coins created by the Federal Reserve. The other 98% is electronic and is created by private banks when they issue loans.
