I have seen a blog covering the the sailing yacht “Uma,” and its auxiliary power is from solar panels driving an electric motor that replaced its diesel engine. By the way, that relatively small yacht sailed great distances over very rough seas with a crew of two. And one crew member is a woman! Who could imagine! I know, all of you. As for anthracite properly used, it is less harmful than petroleum. How so? Petroleum has caused much loss of life, destruction of cities and nation’s (through wars), and economies (from gold and silver to oil). And before I forget, it ruined much of the Gulf of Mexico.

What I like best about renewable energy, marblenecltr, is that it takes control of energy out of the hands of monopoly fossil fuel companies. That’s why it’s so much cheaper. Humankind was really ripped off when they set up the grid. It’s the most inefficient way possible to deliver energy. The only reason it was created was to try to get people to buy more electrical appliances.
