How can this dangerous situation be de-escalated?

From what I understand, Aunty, Russia and Turkey have signed an agreement creating a heavily armed demilitarized corridor to provide for the peaceful exit of all the civilians and terrorists over the next three months. Their agreement also provides for a removal of all heavy weaponry from the region and presumably a commitment that neither Russia nor Syria will engage in aerial bombardment. Hopefully they will be able to use diplomatic pressure to prevail on the US: https://stuartbramhall.wordpress.com/2018/09/17/news-pictures-putin-and-erdogan-agree-to-set-up-a-demilitarised-zone-in-idlib/

The US Constitution requires that the president seek Congressional approval before taking military action in Syria or elsewhere.”
Oh yeah? When did that last stop them?

You have a point, Alan. Technically Congress has the ability to cut off funding for any military action they don’t approve of. Historically, however, they have been too spineless to do so – mainly because they’re afraid their corporate benefactors will cut off their election funding.
