If this is to be the case, then those of us with an income should be able to save some money. Where I am, so many stores have closed, I have nowhere to spend money. I cannot tell you the last time I went shopping for clothing. I’ve still got my summer wardrobe from over a decade ago; capris and shorts and cotton tops for the summer and leggings with oversized shirts for the winter. I’m good so long as thrift stores remain open for a few more decades.
Even another grocery store just closed down and if JC Penney is about to turn into JC Pentoy, I got no problem with that since I don’t need toys. However, it will be sad times ahead for those who work in retail and yet, the government would have us believe that the unemployment rate is 4.1%. Who the fuck are they kidding? If anybody believes that load of horseshit, then I’ve got beachfront property for sale and it is in the middle of a desert. It’s lovely!

To best of my knowledge, Shelby, the thrift stores are doing okay. There are a still a lot of working class and poor people who doing have access to the Internet, and they still need somewhere to buy clothes, appliances, furniture etc. As you point out, it continues to be sad times for retail workers and others as the number of jobs continues to shrink. It’s clearly a downward spiral. As they lose their jobs, they will have no money to spend, either, and more stores will close.

The american economy, is a lot worse off than.people say. Trump, is making it worse, too. Rent and realestate so hi. Young people can’t pay rent, even working two jobs. No decent payin jobs. Mortgage defaults up, too. They keep lyin, out of their asses about things. Homelessness is rampant in all cities and towns in murica. During the last great depression gangsters, and bank robbers massacred innocents with thompson machine guns. Now disposessed people and kids do it with vietnam M16 replicas called ar15s. How ironic. You can get em anywhere , ev3n if not 21. I would be totally against them, but there are so many nazis, and right wing malitias in the us now. We will probably start having right wing death squads, like in chile, brazil, el salvadore, honduras, guatamala, the ukraine. I was in columbia in the 80s. If u dont have at least an ar15 when these thugs come out yur screwed and trump will probly encorage them maga. What a sad mess we are in. There were fascist paramilitaries in murica during the las great depression too. People otta read the grapes of wrath now. Fuk trump maga!!! Not. Thanks for your very perceptive comment, Ken. It sounds like life in the US is extremely bleak right now. A friend recently pointed out that Trump probably represents the right wing fascist wing of the Deep State, while the New York Times, Washington Post and Democratic Party represent the so called left liberal wing of the Deep State. The CIA funds them both either directly or via its front foundations. It appears as if they are fighting each other, but its all a drama played out to mislead us. In either case, whoever we elect to Congress or the presidency will continue to screw over working people for the benefit of banks and Wall Street corporations.
