An amendment added to Congress’ annual intelligence spending bill may help the public gain a better idea of the U.S. government’s relationship with Hollywood.

According to VICE News, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), and committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC), included an amendment to S. 3017 that would require the Director of National Intelligence to submit reports detailing the relationship between the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agencies and Hollywood. 1. Funny I was contemplating their role in paramilitary anti hero sequel Filson like Rambo and the glorification of Spies and covert operators, drug dealers and rogue agents. The role modelling and model idolatry of these lone gunman and elite killers certainly sways the sympathy of brainwashed nationalistic arm chair wannabee heros into tacitly cheering on the imperial corporate war machine. Add alcohol and oxycodone addictions and voila !

  2. I’ve connected some of dots Byron Price of the Associated Press accepted the position of Director of Censorship on 19 December 1941 On March 15, 1942, Army and Navy personnel engaged in censorship activities moved from the War Department and Navy Department to the Office of Censorship, After the Office closed in November 1945, Price did not return to the AP. Instead he became a vice-president of the Motion Picture Association of America. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_Picture_Association_of_America with them the security and surveillance State are in devils hand. Its interesting to note that at age 71 During the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 Price reluctantly agreed to resume direction of censorship if war broke out with the Soviet.

  3. The movie, Three Days of the Condor, mentioned in the article, had a tremendous impact on me when I saw it back in the day. I finally had the opportunity recently to watch it again.

Over the years, the movies have shaped our lives and ways of viewing others at home at abroad in ways that we are totally unaware of. And continues to do so.

The world we live in is a total illusion.
