Doctors Confirm First Human Death Officially Caused by GMOs

Madrid| Doctors of the Carlos III hospital confirmed this morning in a press conference, the first case of human death caused by the ingestion of genetically modified food. Juan Pedro Ramos died from anaphylaxis after eating some recently developed tomatoes containing fish genes, which provoked a violent and lethal allergic reaction.
This surprising announcement comes after the autopsy of the 31-year old Spanish man who died at the Madrid hospital in the beginning of January. The young man’s health rapidly deteriorated after he suffered an unexplained allergic reaction, and all the drugs used to refrain the anaphylaxis were entirely inefficient. The team of experts claims to have been able to determine that the genetically modified tomatoes that the victim ingested at lunch were the cause of the allergic reaction that caused his death.

Last night I had some broccoli which made me burp. The burp came up with a fishy taste which made me feel sick!
If I were a better gardener I would grow my own vegetables, for sure! 🙂

I’m surprised you don’t have access to farmers’ markets where you live. The food you buy directly from farmers is always much fresher (and tastier and healthier) than what you get in the supermarket.
Here’s a directory for Australian farmers markets – where you can search to find the one nearest where you live: http://farmersmarkets.org.au/

Thanks for the link, Stuart. I had a look at Farmers’ Markets. I could find some addresses for Victoria, but not for NSW.
There is a market in Wollongong on a Friday morning. Occasionally we have to go to Wollongong anyway, which is about 14 km from where we live. Then we usually buy a few things from this market. But so far we never did it on a regular basis.

Great link about safely buying fruits and vegetables. Personally I prefer to stick with farmers markets. I feel lots safer eating food when I know the person who grew it.

Wow. This is very important. Thank you for sharing. It is so frightening that we are playing Frankenstein games with our food while making it harder for people to access the same food we have eaten safely for thousands of years.
