  1. Thanks for reblogging this, Stuart. I think we can learn a lot from this very informative article.

The author for instance states that “Russia has a missile which cannot be stopped or spoofed by any of the current and foreseeable USN anti-missile weapons systems.
This missile can be deployed *anywhere* in the world on *any* platform.”

I ask myself: How can this world be made safer? My answer: Working for peace, working for peace, working for peace at all times: In the home, in our countries, in the UN . . . And how can war mongering be stopped? I do not know, except working for consolidation, for understanding, education, and respecting people as much as possible, loving people as much as possible. be open to discussion of difficult topics; in other words working for peace even if at times it seems to be hopeless. This goes for families as well as for nations. If we have this fighting instinct in us, we have to do our fighting in a way that is hopefully none threatening to our families or any nation or human being on this earth.

    • Blogger Lada Ray has written a fascinating report about Russia and President Putin. The goal for Russia has always been to keep the peace and maintain a balance of power in a multi-polar world. Russia is the only superpower strong enough to act as a counterweight to overt Western aggression. Geopolitics is a very delicate game of thrones, one wrong move and game over.

      • Thanks for the link, 1EarthUnited. I wonder if Lada Ray might be a tiny bit biased in this regard. I think China is far more powerful both economically and militarily than Russia. At least this is the view of Alfred McCoy in his book In the Shadows of the American Century – and he has spent more than a decade studying the relative power of potential US enemies. I think there’s no question Russia is a major support player to China in thwarting Western aggression.

Here’s an interesting analysis of Russia’s current political and economic weaknesses that negatively impact its ability to take on the US militarily: https://therearenosunglasses.wordpress.com/2017/11/11/if-not-for-obamas-aggression-russia-and-the-west-would-still-get-along/

It’s a good article except for the statement near the end about Russian interference in US elections – which I believe is pure CIA propaganda.

        • MY LOYALTY IS NOT TO ANY GOVERNMENT OR ECONOMIC SYSTEM, MY LOYALTY IS TO JESUS CHRIST, AND THE TRUTH. WE ALL COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF THE HEAVENLY FATHER YAHVEH, AND IN THE END ALL KNEES SHALL BOW AND REALIZE THAT THE ONLY POWER IS WITHIN HIM. I SHALL ADMIT THE TRUTH ABOUT AMERICA, JUST LIKE I WOULD ABOUT EVERY OTHER COUNTRY AND EVERYTHING ELSE, A SPADE IS A SPADE REGARDLESS WHO IT IS OR WHERE IT COMES FROM. NO WE ARE NO LONGER A SUPER POWER, BUT I DEFINITELY CAN SEE US AND THE REST OF THE PLANET GOING DIRECTLY TO HELL. MEANWHILE WE HAVE SOME BRAND NEW SPIES ON THE BLOCK, IN MANY DIFFERENT CLASSIFICATIONS. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO THOSE WHO ARE GIVING GIFTS AND TO THOSE THAT ARE RECEIVING GIFTS, BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU WANT:

    • Ordinary people have always opposed war, Aunty. It’s the rich billionaire class that promotes war as a source of profit. We have war at present because they have captured our so-called democratic governments. War will continue unless the people can mobilize and end the corporate control of government. At this point, I’m honestly not sure if this is still possible under capitalism. Thanks for commenting.

  2. This very thought-provoking piece of geopolitical military analysis is essential reading.

It touches on the dangers of lemming-logic and the miscalculating hubris of the undemocratic neocon war-mongers, for insulated in their bunkers, they escalate tensions and can lead us all over the precipice without compunction. Not in our names!

Thank you very much, Stuart, reposted.

  3. My pleasure, truthaholics. For the most part, US foreign policy has deteriorated into rhetoric, posturing and bluster. This hasn’t just started with Trump, mind you. Obama did it as well – most notably when he backed down on invading Syria. It’s good to see Russia and China increasingly challenging the bluster. And the US increasingly backing down – because, in truth, they can’t back it up militarily.

  4. Unfortunately, counter-balancing these two myths are the scare tactics:
    1. The US has to keep ahead by building up its military arsenal, and
    2. The US actually is vulnerable to attacks from 3rd world maniacs, so back to No. 1.
