    • I’m with you Kenneth. The only hope for the survival of the US (and for democracy itself) is to end the ability of private banks to create money and restore this function to government.

  1. Unprepared for Nearly Anything? And they do not care about this in any way? The bottom 50% just do not matter? Is a system like this sustainable in the long run? Well, apparently the people in power do not worry about this one bit.
Thanks for publishing this blog, Stuart. I went to the original post and reblogged it.

    • Thanks for reblogging the article, Aunty. Glad you enjoyed it I think the people in power do worry about the growing unrest created by this massive increase in poverty (which has led to Brexit and the election of Donald Trump). However they seem more concerned about immediate gratification in terms of wealth and power.

  2. But in the long run they will matter. The bottom 50%. having no spending ability is the reason why malls are closing, nationwide. The bottom 50% spend money when they have it, when they don’t retail stores start shuttering and restaurants are emptied and this is what is happening.

Amazondotcom is not taking the business on a massive scale away from brick and mortar, the bottom 50% cannot spend money they don’t have and Wall Street and the Feds can attempt to prop this absurdity of an economy up for now by printing fake ass money and by manipulation of non-existent money, but that too will be shown for what it is; smoke and mirrors, a mirage. And with the world backing away from the dollar, this too will put one of the final nails in the coffin.

  3. Excellent analysis, Shelby. Historically no empire has survived massive inequality such as the US currently enjoys. So I guess us peons need to start with the assumption the ship is going to sink and go for the lifeboats – in other words start to look around and organize something to put in place of the current mess.
