With Obamacare, Obama took a basically Republican plan (Mitt Romney’s plan in Massachusetts) and tried to pass it off as liberal. Meanwhile the Republican party moved so far to the right that they now refuse to support any approach that covers the uninsured.

The Original Lie About Obamacare

You hear it from Republicans, pundits and even some Democrats. It’s often said in a tone of regret: I wish Obama had done health reform in a bipartisan way, rather than jamming through a partisan bill.

The lament seems to have the ring of truth, given that not a single Republican in Congress voted for Obamacare. Yet it is false —demonstrably so.

That it’s nonetheless stuck helps explain how the Republicans have landed in such a mess on health care. The Congressional Budget Office released a jaw-dropping report Monday estimating that the Republican health plan would take insurance from 24 million people, many of them Republican voters, and raise medical costs for others. 1. I’ve got the solution to the republicans shitting on healthcare for everyone, deny them that platinum coverage that covers their ass, make them have to pay for their own healthcare while demanding a ‘popular’ vote on term limits and congressional salaries and sweeping legislation to get lobbyists out of Washington.

    • I guess that’s the problem with privilege, Shelby. Them that has always wants and gets more. I think the basic attitude of Republicans is that the rest of us are scum and don’t deserve health care. I totally agree that there need to be term limits and we need to ban lobbyists (I seem to recall this was one of Trump’s campaign promises – I wonder if he’s making any progress on that.)

AS AN AMERICAN, I DO NOT, AND THE REST OF THE WORLD SHOULD NOT, EXPECT TRUMP, DEMOCRATS, REPUBLICANS, ETC…TO MAKE PROGRESS IN ANYTHING. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN, NOR WILL PROMISES BE KEPT, THEY WILL BE TRANSFORMED INTO SOMETHING ELSE NO ONE NEEDS OR WANTS. THEY WANT GLOBALISM HERE REGARDLESS WHAT THEY SAY OR DO, JUST KEEP IN MIND THAT IN THE USA, NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS TO BE.

      • Trump will backtrack on that campaign promise just as he backtracked on the ‘Drain the Swamp’ campaign promise since he went full speed ahead in nominating swamp creatures for his cabinet positions. Trump’s supporters are going to be in for a rude awakening because he will disappoint them the same as all politicians have disappointed their supporters. Trump is no different from all who have gone before him.
