  1. Yeah, good luck with that! When the citizens of Detroit petitioned the UN over the City of Detroit shutting off the water that was a denial of a basic human right and the UN agreed and that was all the UN did. We all know who the UN takes its orders from and since this hole has been hell bent on attempting to destabilize Syria and oust Assad, the UN will do nothing. What I would like to know is why is the UN still in existence since it does nothing, absolutely nothing. The UN will merely condemn human rights abuses and that is it. So what good is it?

    • I think you’re right, Shelby – that up until now the UN has merely existing to serve the US and Wall Street. However I also think there is strong evidence that US global influence is rapidly waning. In the UN Security Council, Russia and China (mainly Russia) have been very influential in thwarting US efforts to oust Assad in Syria. The current Syrian peace talks are certainly a curious situation with Russia and Turkey allying to force the US to participate. The boundaries between proxy players are becoming quite blurred. From what I read, it appears to me that Turkey has invaded Syria to attack the Kurdish militants (to keep them from becoming too dominant within Turkey) rather than ISIS.The US meanwhile supports the Kurds – some of the most effective fighters against ISIS in Syria and Iraq. I also strongly suspect the CIA was responsible for the recent coup in Turkey. In other words, it looks to me like Assad is playing both sides against the middle.

  3. Interesting link, futuret. I suspect the days of wanton US military aggression are drawing to a close.

    • I hope you are right Dr. Bramhall. But with Trump hell bent on throwing more money at the military, what does that say for his stance which seems to change from day to day because if memory serves me correctly, at first, he was all for getting out of wars in the Middle East and so, why now decide to throw $54 billion at the military? It just doesn’t make any sense or I should say, Trump does not make any sense. But what’s new?
