  1. Yes, and wasn’t Obama going to close the Guantanamo facility? The real tragedy is that, after the coming election, those poor Americans are gong to look back on Obama’s presidency as some kind of Golden Age!

  2. Good point, Alan. I read recently that Obama’s approval rating is above 50% again – for the first time in years. I suppose people are starting to view him quite favorably when looking at the alternatives (ie Clinton and Trump).

  3. The CIA needs to be eliminated, but it’s safe to say it won’t happen. Look at the previous presidents who actually tried (Kennedy was murdered, Nixon was kicked out of office) or considered trying (Carter wasn’t allowed reelection & is still being attacked in the corporate media).

They are obviously creating job security (making millions more enemies for the U.S.) and convincing the ignorant masses in the U.S. they are a necessary evil.

  4. I think you underestimate the power of mass mobilization. Mass protests stopped the Keystone pipeline and fracking in New York and other states – as well as forcing a postponement of TPP into election year – something no one will vote for in the face of an impending election. There’s no reason why the same kind of mass mobilization can’t shut down the CIA as well.- by burning it down if necessary.
